Forgot about this one, but lovely to see Nunez silence the brainless Twitter hoards.

The assist from Carvalho is sublime, too. Very excited by him. He's got some magic in his boots.

Those who follow the Reserves/Youth Team thread will know about Bajetic's potential. 😀
So is he a CB or DM? He has potential, but can't get hyped after 1 game

I thought Fabio and Harvey were very good, looked sharp and bright, I think both got an assist each

He signed from Celta Vigo as a CB but was switched to DM before his injury in Jan ended his season.

[article]Academy coach Marc Bridge-Wilkinson said in November last year: "He is doing really well. He's playing a little bit different in midfield at the minute but is good enough to play there.

"He can play the game in and out of possession in that position as well as at centre-back. We are really pleased with him. Who knows what his position will be? He is a good footballer, that's the main thing.

"Our job is not to make a right-back or a central midfield player or a forward, it's to help these good football players improve, adapt to what they need to do and at some stage somebody will give them a little bit of a tag."

Carvalho playing in the Diaz position LM/LW. Did well too, looks like a ready -made back up for Diaz at LW but with the AM option too we could see him a lot this season (esp. from the bench for the last 20 mins in games).

Bajcetic was very tidy and looks good enough to play some part off the bench too.

Still preseason but some of those young lads, Elliott, Carvalho and Bajčetić do look quite impressive. Konaté still has a kink in his game that needs ironing but we have options in that position.

Really excited about that trio. Also want to see what Ramsay has to offer.

Nunez arrives & Bajcetic takes chance – 6 talking points from Leipzig 0-5 Liverpool

“Pandora’s box is open,” Jurgen Klopp said to LFCTV after his new £85 million striker opened his Liverpool account in emphatic fashion.
After a week of rival fans desperately trying to convince themselves that the Reds had made a poor signing, this time, the Nunez compilations will be doing the rounds on social media for all the right reasons.
This was a glimpse of what the Uruguayan can offer Liverpool in the years to come.
Last week, Klopp said he was “completely convinced” about Nunez’s ability and believed it was only a matter of time until his teammates learned how to play to his strengths.
It’s not often you’ll see Mohamed Salah let someone else take a penalty!
It’s only pre-season, but after the first went in, the relief on Nunez’s face was clear. That took the weight off his shoulders, and his link-up play with the likes of Harvey Elliott and Fabio Carvalho was excellent thereafter.
He’s arrived!

I've seen this kid play for the reserves/youths and the reason why I'm excited about him is because he stands out, just like Sterling, Suso, Trent etc did.

Stands out how you might ask?
The way I judge young players is not solely by stats. Cause, we've all heard or seen young players score for fun for the reserves even win the FA youth cup and not make it in top tier football.
To me it's about how they play in their position. Bajetic plays as a CB or DM but he looks like an attacking midfielder playing in those positions. He does it with such ease. There's a calmness to his game that just says that he's above the level he's currently at. When a player plays in a different "pace" than the game he's currently playing in, it tells me that he's got something.
Also doesn't hurt that he's got the size and the stock( his father was a professional footballer).
Obviously, there's no guarantees. I for instance thought that McLaughlin kid was gonna make it.

I really like his instinct to play a progressive pass, rather than sideways or back. He plays those, but only when an advancing pass is not available and he sees many that I don’t see.

Morton had that too, but does not have the physicality for DM.

Someone tell Bluebell we’ve found the midfielder he’s been moaning about signing all preseason - and tell him we got him on a cracking deal.
