I hate to disagree with the Pepe love in.

I think he's a great keeper and long may that continue...., but I think he's a bit of a plonker.

He's acutely aware that the camera is on him in those clips and he's doing a cringeworthy "look at me, I'm mad so I am, I'm a great laugh is me, bloody party animal I am" thing.

Plonker Gene.
How can you not love the man?

I can see where gene is coming from now...... Reina is obviously a self centred arse who wants all attention for himself. Well that's the impression that video gives.

after watching that video, i fucking love that man more than ever

Its almost like someone taking on a completely new alas on a forum and continuing on with the facade long after everyone had worked out who it was. Of course no-one would be that desperate to seek attention, that would just be cringeworthy.

I don't see how anyone could not love Pepe. It just makes me sad that he's never had the chance to do this for us.

Imagine how great he'd be with celebrations if we ever won the league.

At parties Gene is obviously the guy sat in the corner too shy to mingle and join in the fun, shaking his head at people like Reina who are having a good time

I know, winning the world cup with his country, but no playing and still celebrating. he must be mad.

I know what you're saying LNY, but the thing with Reina is he knew what to expect, he went to SA knowing he's bench bound, so it's not like he had to deal with the shock or unexpected disappointment of not playing. He knew his lot and enjoyed it.

Good for him, he could be bitter or a whiny little girl, but he's not.

Id like to stagger through Liverpool city centre arm in arm with Pepe, pissed up, singing and eating a bag of chips.

You remember when we were in the CL? Pepe was the heaviest player in any CL squad. My kids footy stickers said so. We should have given the lithe young Scott Carson a fairer crap of the whip!

Anita, I know, that's what I meant. he went, didn't play, and is loving his country's success, whereas other players would be focused on the fact they didn;t play etc. Kind of fella you want in the trenches with you. hey he could be an attention seeker, but I think he's just more of a character. And for us, he's rock solid.

Which is why you will always have a home here. Kindred spirits and all that.

"Look at me falling off the bus, I'm mad so I am. I'm like Animal from the Muppets that's me, or like Murdoch from the A-Team, that's what I'm like, but I fun to be around like."

Perhaps in the post-'The Office' era, every team will have its David Brent.

Animal is my idol in life, gene.

I don't often disagree with you, but this time I must. I'm sure Pepe knows how he comes across, but it does not follow from that that he's putting it on. He may consciously play it up (though TBH I'm not convinced even about that) but I still reckon what you see is genuinely what you get with that man.
