Jol buys a new CD: Fulham boss completes deal for Dutch teenager Chris David

Chris+David

Fulham boss Martin Jol has kicked off his January transfer business with a move for FC Twente midfielder Chris David.

Jol confirmed the Dutch youth international has completed his switch to Craven Cottage this morning.

"He has signed and he is here," Jol said.

"He trained with us this morning. He is 19 years of age, player of the year of all the academies in Holland.

"He is an exciting talent but he will need at least six months of a year to adapt, but hopefully he will do it quicker. He is a very, very good talent.

"People say Ajax were interested and I imagine there will have been other clubs who were interested in him.

Roger and in: Wigan complete deal for Honduras midfielder Espinoza

Roger+Espinoza

Roger Espinoza could make his Wigan debut tomorrow after completing his move to the club this afternoon.

The Honduras international has signed for the Latics from Major League Soccer side Sporting Kansas City on a two-and-a-half-year deal, after he was granted a visa yesterday.

He can play in defence or midfield and is Wigan's second signing of the winter window after Angelo Henriquez joined on loan from Manchester United earlier in the week.

"I am just so happy to finally be here," the 26-year-old said. "It's taken a while to get all the paperwork done but now I can concentrate on fighting for my place and helping the team."

Boss Roberto Martinez said: “It is great to finally welcome Roger to Wigan and I know the supporters will give him a real Latics welcome.

He gets that from his praying, i.e. postrating. Although I could be wrong and he could have just got smacked in the head by Pardew.
Ive seen a lot of cats who pray on a block but ive never once seen one with a proper callous on their forehead!? Surely you are mistaken?

Where do you find these articles Avy? And will they continue with the shite puns in the headlines??!!

No honestly, that mark is rather common on dudes who pray a lot, extensive postration causes that, especially in the mid-east and africa where people pray on hard floors.

The praying on a square block or piece of clay etc is common to Shi'ism.

I need some time to mull this over.
I will retire to the drawing room for an hour or so of contemplation.

AC Milan are set to seal a co-ownership agreement for Italy Under-21 international Riccardo Saponara.

Empoli forward Saponara, 21, has been in incredible form in Serie B, and has scored five goals in 13 appearances for the Italy Under-21 side.

Saponara has caught the eye of some of the peninsula’s biggest clubs, but Empoli director of sport Marcello Carli has confirmed that an agreement is in place with Milan.

“It’s true, there is a deal with Milan for half of Saponara’s contract,” he told Calciomercato.it. “He was tracked by many clubs, but the Rossoneri were quick off the blocks. The player will remain with us until the end of the season. That was a decisive factor in negotiations.”

Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani had confirmed on Wednesday that Saponara, expected to cost the club around €4 million, was of interest.

Saponara is certainly a player that fits in with the policy of focusing on youth that Milan are taking,” Galliani told Sky Italia.

Armero, 26, has been a long-term target for the southern club, who view him as the perfect foil for Christian Maggio.

Napoli revealed on Wednesday evening that an agreement had been reached with Udinese for the player, who has represented Colombia on 30 occasions. A statement on their website announced that Armero will arrive on loan with an option for co-ownership in June, while he will undergo a medical on Thursday.

The statement read: “Napoli announce it has agreed a deal with Udinese for the transfer of Pablo Armero into the Azzurri shirt. The left-winger arrives on loan with an option to buy half his contract at the end of the season. Tomorrow Armero will undergo his medical after which the deal will be definitively formalised.”

Subsequently, Dossena, 31, will move on to Palermo, following team-mate Salvatore Aronica, who made the same switch earlier this week.

“Yes, Napoli have given me the all-clear to join Palermo,” Dossena told Stadionews. “I am happy with this new experience and hope to immediately be at the disposal of coach Gian Piero Gasperini.”

Loic Remy: QPR sign Marseille striker for a club record fee
Queens Park Rangers have signed striker Loic Remy from Marseille for a club record £8m fee.
Remy, 26, has agreed a four-and-a-half year deal with the Premier League's bottom club.
The former Lyon forward has won 17 caps for France and scored four goals.
Harry Redknapp told the club website: "I'm delighted to bring him in - he's a great buy for us. He's got the potential to be a really outstanding striker.
He was also a target for Newcastle, who had expected him for talks on Sunday only to discover he had travelled to Loftus Road instead.
Redknapp added: "I didn't think we'd get him to be honest but Tony Fernandes worked ever so hard on this.
Loic Remy in numbers
  • Age 26
  • France Caps 17
  • Games for Marseille 99
  • Goals for Marseille 36
  • French league titles 1
  • Goals this season 3
  • Total transfer fees £27.5m
"He wouldn't give up on it and it's great that we now have him here with us.
"He's always been a player I've admired. I've watched him on so many occasions throughout the last few years.
"I actually spent three or four hours with him last year so he knew what I thought of him, and I think that was important.
"He's quick, can score goals and makes great runs. His movement is excellent. He's got the potential to be a really outstanding striker."
Remy has scored three goals in 19 appearances for Marseille this season.
The club's previous transfer record was Djibril Cisse, bought for £4m in January 2012. Junior Hoilett was signed for £3m rising to £4m with add-ons in July 2012.
The striker said: "Harry played a big part in me coming here.
"I spoke to him and Tony Fernandes at length and they made it clear they wanted me here. They gave me the right motivation to join QPR.
"I want to develop my game here. This season the objective is to stay up but beyond that we have greater objectives.
"After seven years in France, this is the right time for me to pursue a new challenge in the Premier League - the best league in the world.
"I am confident I can adapt to the Premier League. My main characteristics have taken me to the level I am at today but I am keen to keep improving in the Premier League."

Tom Rogic has joined Celtic from Australian side Central Coast Mariners for 1M.

Good young prospect, will be interesting to see how he goes.

Scotland international defender Danny Wilson has signed for Hearts on loan until the end of the season.
The Liverpool defender could well go straight into the squad for the Tynecastle club's trip to Celtic on Saturday afternoon.
The former Rangers defender spent the first half of the season with Bristol City, but made just a single appearance in a 3-1 victory over Middlesbrough.
Wilson broke into the Rangers first-team at the age of 18, becoming a regular fixture in the side and forming a formidable partnership with David Weir, a taking part in the team's Champions League campaign.
Hearts had previously been under a registration embargo, and have since been told that they can only register players aged 21 or younger, provided they are paid less than the outgoing member of the squad.
Wilson celebrated his 21st birthday on December 27 last year, but qualifies as under-21 under the SPL rules from the start of the 2012/13 season.

M'vila has signed for Rubin Kazan.

Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila has turned down the chance to move to the Premier League and signed for Russian side Rubin Kazan.

The Ligue 1 confirmed the move on Wednesday after accepting a bid for the player who had been linked with QPR and Fulham among other teams.
Rubin had also been in the mix to sign the 22-year-old but their pursuit was in some doubt because of a domestic transfer embargo over unpaid debts to their former player Roman Adamov. The move to Russia is reported to be more lucrative for M'Vila, who is banned from representing France until June 2014 over an unauthorised night out when on U21 international duty.

A Rennes statement read: "Stade Rennais, FC Rubin Kazan and Yann M'Vila have reached an agreement for the permanent transfer of the French international.

"After the traditional medical visit, the Rennes midfielder joined the Russian club officially on Wednesday evening."

Zaha, who is undergoing a medical today, will be loaned straight back to the Championship club for the rest of the current season, before moving to Old Trafford in July.

The winger has agreed personal terms and the deal is expected to be concluded next week.

United manager Sir Alex Ferguson said: "We are signing a player of potential. We always feel we develop players well. We have proved that many times. We hope the boy enjoys coming here, when he comes in the summer."

Zaha said: "I am delighted to be joining Manchester United and ending the recent speculation.

"I would like to thank the owners at Palace for making the move possible, however my focus for the next five months will be solely at Crystal Palace.

"I have been at Palace for more than 10 years, I will always love the club and I want to help get them get back to the Premier League, particularly for the fans who have always been so good to me."

Crystal Palace co-chairman Steve Parish said: "I feel this is a great deal for the club and the player. We would like to thank Wilf for all he has done for the club and we all wish him well when he joins Manchester United in the summer.

"It was essential to Wilf and ourselves that he stayed at Palace for the remainder of this season to help the club with its main aim of promotion to the Premier League."
