Rodger's had his name sung after a 2-1 defeat to Utd.

If that hasn't given him the confidence that his system is winning the fans over & he had time & trust to implement it fully then nothing ever will.

Last night's performance wasn't perfect but it was a team young in age & even younger in English top level experience & they played good passing football that was also extremely incisive & creative, against a team that beat a much more experienced Liverpool side comprehensively a few weeks ago.

There's much to be optimistic about.

I'm falling in love with us again...In love with the fact that we are playing attractive football, in love with the fact that we're giving good young players a chance, in love with the fact that they seem intent on proving themselves and taking their chance, in love with the fact that we have wingers that ARE wingers (Did you see, did you see...our LW ran at opposing defenders and beat them?), in love with the fact that we (the fans) seem to know that we have an excellent young manager in charge who has a fantastic style of play in mind and are willing to give him time to implement his system, in love with the fact that Nuri Sahin is getting match fit and we got a glimpse of the class player he can be, in love with the fact that in spite of going behind through another self inflicted error we our kept our chins up and outplayed and beat the home team with youngsters.
Hell, I even love the fact that Henderson been looking good lately.

There"s still some way to go, especially in the league, but there too we've showed that we can easily match the Big Boys and with a few tweaks we can definitely be challengers soon. Whether that can be for a Top 4 spot this year, I don't know but I look at the start Arsenal made last year and where they finished off to know that it's not impossible, but maybe improbable. We do need to start cutting out silly mistakes that cost us goals (I think at lesat 80% of the goals we've conceded so far have been our own fault) and get a few wins in the league and I feel that if we do, we will start steadily climbing up the table.

There's a shitload to be positive about...and I love that too.


p.s. I don't love Downing though. To me, he is the Anti-Footballer.

Fair enough lads, and I am a hereditary worrier too, but it won't come to that. Anyway, if we're in the drop zone come Xmas, they'll just call in Rafa, and he'll get us out. So, see, nothing to worry about - we have a fail-safe.

The only thing that niggles is that I was thinking exactly the same about this time last year. We need that hiding to happen soon to build the confidence or run the risk of heads dropping
