Much as he annoys the fuck out of me playing for Utd, I'd take a look at Fabio as a potential right-back for us (given Johnson is likely to leave/be sold).

He's a bona fide attacking full-back with pace and aggression. His positioning/general defensive play needs to be improved with good coaching - but we've got one of the best coach/managers around and the lad is the right age to improve.

He'd combine really well with Sterling (who'd also offer him protection initially) on the right side.

Couldn't give a solitary shite what they do. More pages about them than us on here these days. Just sit back and enjoy it.

Also, Fabio as a signing for us? Fuck off. Referring to Ferdinand as Rio like he's some sort of personal friend, fuck off. Endlessly discussing that shower, fuck off.

You're talking about Rafael. Fabio is his brother, the left back.

As for taking a look at him, why? They are not going to sell him, least of all to us.

Yes, I mean Rafael.

Who knows if they'd sell? They're all over the place, he might try and force a move away if Moyes stays or a new manager might have other ideas.

He's got 2 years left on his contract in the summer.

He's simply a player I think would do very well for us.

They may be going through a tough time but it's not like they've lost their minds (Moyes appointment aside).

It's my understanding that Rafael is considered to be part of their future along with guys like De Gea.

If they were somehow forced to sell, they still wouldn't sell to us.

You can't make the Moyes appointment an aside - it's the core of my argument!

You're probably right, he's one of those they'd want to keep. However, he strikes me as an ambitious, feisty little fucker, and he just might force his way out in search of Champions league footy. We have Lucas/Coutinho ready to offer him the promise of a little Brazilian enclave, and a side set-up to make the most of his attacking talents. he must also look at Rodgers and wonder whether he could take him on to another level (or about 5 levels above Moyes).

It's a longshot, yes, but if available in the next 12 months he should be under consideration. There's not many similarly experienced/talented/potential young right backs out there.

As an aside, we've been linked with Moreno (Sevilla left-back) again today.

Most Man United fans I know see Rafael as nothing but a constant liability. Not for me thanks.

Over Van Persie ? Can't see that somehow.

He scored a few important goals, including one against us, and seemed to be fulfilling his promise. Thankfully he got injured and went back to be being balls, but he still could come good.

They need a Robson/Keane type in midfield, and I can't see them getting one, thank god.

You trying to say that they didn't get one in 27M Fellani?

Oddly, they keep trying to go for attacking midfielders. Their main targets in the summer were Thiago, Fabregas and now Kroos it seems. All great players but they seem to be disregarding the need for someone with a bit of steel.

Key Manchester United boardroom figures have now turned against David Moyes, as the prospect of the manager getting sacked has been properly raised for the first time, club sources have told ESPN.

The Glazer family owners are now more open to the idea of a change of manager, although they presently remain behind Moyes, but the next week could prove decisive, sources said. Over that time, United must overturn a 2-0 deficit in the Champions League against Olympiakos, before facing an awkward trip to West Ham United and then a potentially daunting second derby of the season against Manchester City.

While qualification for the quarter-finals of the Champions League would be seen as a huge positive and possibly change the entire dynamic of his job, an elimination followed by poor performances in the two games after that could well bring the pressure to breaking point. The Glazers are said to have become very "nervous" about the nature of recent performances, let alone the results, with a nadir coming in the 3-0 home defeat to Liverpool. Some United officials now openly maintain that a managerial change is needed.

Old Trafford sources also state it has been noted that Alex Ferguson is no longer so vocally backing Moyes at boardroom level, although the former manager is not said to have turned against his replacement. It is also believed Moyes retains the backing of Bobby Charlton.

Doubt, however, has increased at virtually every level of the club. Despite the poverty of recent performances, sources state that one of the most influential factors now has been financial concerns. A number of recently signed-up sponsors and commercial partners have reportedly let it be known to the club that they are less than enthused with now being linked to failure, especially since they specifically came on board because of the reputation for extreme success.

This is said to have most unnerved the hierarchy, and long-term damage to United as a "brand" could be the clinching point in any decision. While the club have long planned for a season out of the Champions League - and that was known to be one initial reason behind the previously unwavering support for Moyes - any extra negative effect on commercial revenue would be viewed with utmost seriousness.

Sources also state Louis van Gaal would be interested in a potential summer move to Old Trafford, and that the Dutch coach is a little less intent on the Tottenham Hotspur job than he was a few weeks ago. Spurs had felt that Van Gaal's appointment after the World Cup was virtually certain, but it is now more open-ended.

If they get knocked out of the champions league, and then lose to city, they have nothing to lose sacking him. It couldn't really get that much worse if they put one of the players in charge. They'd still finish around 7th-8th. If they win one of those two games, then they might hold onto him. I suspect they'll go through in the champions league, and hopefully he'll keep his job. You watch the cunt lose both games and get the boot, ruining our master plan of him leading them to their ruin.

They are in dismay even if they sack him. A club with continous support of their manager even through a rough spell? Yeah sure.... What will be the burden for the next manager if he fails to work out that poor squad in a short time? Should they sack him as well within a season? However they turn it they have gone towards their very own key success factor if they don't keep him for the forseeable future. Their key value will be nothing worth.
