Intelligence might well be less useful than raw pace and a trick or two in Scotland. Kent isn't cerebral, but his attributes means he repeatedly gets behind the opposition. In a league in which players get away with a lot more physicality, and in which time on the ball is negligible, you often need more than being clever, especially when you're not surrounded by clever tippy-tappy players. He hasn't done well in league 1 (the kind of division that compares with the SPL for much of the league) on about 3 occasions and in fact, he has completely bombed. I expect the same again. He'd probably do well on loan in a Spanish league 1 side or something.
Makes sense

I read elsewhere that Lyon are waiting to sell Cornet to Burnley to free up the funds to buy Shack.
Before that, they need to get in a replacement left back for Cornet.
They reportedly have made an approach to Chelsea to take Emerson on a season long loan.

Emerson to Lyon on loan has been confirmed today.

Read that Cornet isn't too keen on moving to Burnley (who would blame him) and prefers a move to Hertha Berlin instead. Except Hertha are struggling to meet Lyon's valuation, so he might ultimately move to Burnley only. Let's see. Looks like the Shaqiri deal hinges now on Lyon getting the cash from the Cornet sale.

I suspect he would have been better for Hearts when they were in the Scottish Championship last year than this year. Amazing to think that a player who didn't get minutes in the third tier of the league is considered a bench option for us. He might be a nice kid - doesn't mean we should be wasting slots in our squad for him.

Dych has been inspired by the marketing people and won't stop until he gets one.

The advert has recently come back, in audio, on Irish radio, but the last line has changed from "just one Cornetto from Walls ice cream" to "just one Cornetto from HB ice cream" which sounds odd,

Do HB now own Walls or did they just take over the Cornetto brand from them? Or is this another border oddity like Bulmers/Magners & Vauxhall/Opel?

Cornettos were the height of sophistication in the frozen lolly section back in the days of this ad. Had to make do with a Polly Pineapple or Porky Pear more often than not, and the cornetto was but a dream.

We were dead fancy in Larne... we had Choc Pops.

They have been always HB cornetto over here. I think HB and Walls are owned by the same parent company. I suspect that company also owns many other worldwide ice-cream brands, as the ice cream selection in many countries are almost identical by choice and by name.

Oh my favourite as a child in the 60s was that lolly with the very sticky gooey toffee centre. Never bettered.

Well Vauxhall / Opel are slightly different cars based on the same chassis with similar engines / designs. Vauxhall in the UK and Opel in Germany & Belgium.

I don't know if I remember that one. Maybe the horrific concoction of e-numbers required to keep it gooey were outlawed by the later 70s?

Was in south for a week several weeks ago, and noticed a lot of stores that had parallel brands to those in the UK. Primark had one, B&M bargains had one. All the quality vendors.

And it was a real shock going to the O'Donnells drive thru for a Big Mac!

did you ever have the joy of summers in primary school when specially nominated kids would go from class to class and take everyones ice lolly order? They’d be delivered at break time, great times.

I was fond of a Wibbly Wobbly Wonder myself ...or if I was feeling flush I 'd go for a Choc Ice.

No

Small bottle of milk with pink straw was the sum of it all when I was at primary school. Than that bitch took even that minor joy away from those who followed me. May she continue to rot in hell

Good luck to him. Will forever remember his contribution in the Barca semi.

Decent fees. Pearce also says that we'll sign another player only if Origi also leaves.

Meanwhile, exits also likely for Phillips, Karius and Ojo.

I actually rewatched that game recently.
He was particularly terrible in the first half and the commentators (Irish TV) speculated constantly that he would be subbed off at any minute.
He wasn't really any better in the second half.
Then he put in "that" cross for Gini.

Looking to offload Karius and Ojo but I reckon we can't find anyone to buy either
