The Champions League Final...

I have been watching him since he was at Groningen. He took them to court to try and force a move to Ajax. He is a great player with a ruthless streak. He doesn't bite people to move clubs though. That would be daft.

No. Biting people for other reasons makes much more sense. But I do agree he's an eminently admirable human being who deserves all the forelock tugging and weepy applause he gets for playing in a team of cherry-picked superstars. Now will you leave me alone?

Can tell Suarez is enjoying playing with players of that quality.

Job satisfaction is a big issue for us, why shouldnt it be the same for those who earn megabucks.

It's how you go about doing it. That's purely my opinion, of course, and it seems to be a minority one. Not that I care.

Mascherano got shit for the way he left, Suarez biting fellas is a bit worse, so I understand where Macca is coming from

I hate Barca in toto. They have a hell of a PR team to make them seem like such a happy clappy club to so many, but they've always been the most cynical club around, trampling over every rule and regulation to get whatever they want. A rotten institution spray painted gold.

Mascherano refused to play didn't he? I think that's pretty bad.

It was Hodgson who said that, gene, the same Hodgson who more recently made the same allegation about Sterling which he himself then admitted to be "inaccurate". Masher has always insisted that he said no such thing and I believe him, based not only on the fact that Hodgson is a lying, self-seeking nomark but also on the fact that Masher never, ever gave less than 100% in a Liverpool shirt.

Unprincipled little gobshite bites player to force his club to sell him and then wins medals. A wonderful moral tale and a great cause for celebration for all unprincipled gobshites. And another year in store for super-smug tapper-uppers mugging for the cameras whilst advertising shite airlines. It's all so very heartwarming.

Gah not this again!

Right, this is what happened...

Evra called him an offensive term for South Americans, "sudaca".

Suarez responded by calling him black in Spanish. "Callate negro" or something similar. He didn't call him "a negro" in English.

They were both out of order. Both discriminated against the other. But Suarez was the only one to be punished for it.

Is discrimination of one's skin colour worse than discrimination against one's nationality? Are they both the same? Is all discrimination equally abhorrent?

Either way they were both dickheads for that petty argument.

So he racially discriminated against him, whereas evra was xenophobic

So.... I'm not incorrect in what I said

Succinct and accurate. Are you sure you're on the right forum?

And if someone called me an anti scouse slur, and I called them one of the many racial names I could call them... Am I not worse?

Discrimination is discrimination, sure, but there are levels surely?

But I'm just trying to open pandoras box

My point is, surely they're just as bad as each other? Evra comes out as the innocent victim in all this.

Sorry, I didn't read this.

I dunno, is it worse? It shouldn't be. In an ideal world a colour of a person's skin should be no more important than their hair colour. Unless they're ginger... then they're a soulless freak.

I completely agree

However we don't live in an ideal world, where there has been many issues involving race/religion.

I'd probably put insults to both of those things as worse than someone's regional insults (like if I called a cockney a meff)

Yeah perhaps...

I'm just smarting because I think Evra should have been charged, too.
