I don't think Kenny will be appointed full stop. If they were willing to go that way they would have done it already. It seems we've all understood the situation somewhat differently, I've understood it as the owners are done with Roy and actively seeking a replacement, the results now don't matter as they've made their mind up about him going, but he will remain in post until they find someone, which could be a few weeks. Of course, I could be wrong, but that's how I've understood things

That Anfield yesterday recorded its lowest Premier League attendance since 2004 — just 35,400 watched the game — is an equally telling statistic.

It'd be amazing to see Kenny back in the dug out, it really would. But what if after 8/10 games we are still performing poorly and losing away from home and dropping silly points at Anfield? I wouldn't want Kenny's stature to lose a modicum of its sheen.
