Not really Bunny. They don't care if they lose money, Madrid have done it for years, spend big on a player, doesn't work out, and they flog him. He's one of the top five biggest earners in Europe (a list was floating about a couple of weeks back), they might just want to offload him.

Agreed that they may see it as a sweetener for Torres. But I don't think it's inconceivable that they'd sell him for about £20million.
When its estimated that they bought him for between 30 and 45 million pounds and he has been succcesfull in the side and we are a direct competitor in the same league... and we don't have a clue if we are financially coming or going next season anyway!!

Yes makes perfect sense... :🙂

Clear as day.

Tevez - He can be our Denise Bergkamp - enough said. The lad is quality, as Benitez says, but he is also a twat.
I'd be hard pushed to come up with a player less like "Denise" Bergkamp than Carlos Tevez.

Lol...i meant Dennis Bergkamp of course.

Apart from being ugly, what other reason is there for you to discredit a comparison with Dennis Bergkamp.

No, the chance to get sick of him given the poor guys hardly gets a run out.

Anyway, time to show Stevie some love.
I think that was my response too.

I just want more good players in the squad, and less shit ones.

That's the first step to making a good team, not slavishly sticking to a formation and filling it with flids, and still expecting it to win games.
Yup, I've been saying this for ages.

Exactly so, we need the people to be able to manage to play a good old 442, and equally one up front if the occasion dictates, but good players are the key. We also need a manager who recognises when to do it and why.

Torres and Tevez would have been magical, but we are kidding ourselves with this latest stuff, unless things really are going on in the background over the ownership to such an extent nods are being given.

also tevez linking up with his good friend mash may be a factor in tevez' mind (along with the big pay check of course). sell kuyt to free up a slot with our high earners.
Is there any evidence anywhere that they are good friends?

But in what way has Tevez 'not worked out'? He's their top scorer and best player. Plus there would be loads of clubs interested for that money.

I wondered that myself Bunny, he has had games and seems to be enjoying himself, there is this bit from the Mail I thing

The Argentine has scored 28 goals this season and has been nominated for the PFA Player of the Year award, which will be announced tonight.

But he publicly questioned the sacking of Mark Hughes in a recent interview and openly disagreed with Mancini's decision to make the players train twice a day.

He also voiced his displeasure about City using his image in a provocative 'Welcome to Manchester' poster campaign.

Significantly, Joorabchian, an important figure in Tevez's life, has fallen out with the hierarchy at City following the departure of Hughes and will not be averse to finding Tevez a new club if instructed to do so.

Real Madrid and Inter Milan will be among the contenders to sign him, but there could also be a surprise move from Liverpool, even though their own Champions League hopes are slim.

Liverpool hope the fact that Tevez's friend and Argentina team-mate Javier Mascherano is at the club will boost their chances, although the player would have to kick up a real fuss at Eastlands before City allowed him to move to Anfield for a cut-price £18million.

Mascherano is in contract talks with Liverpool but negotiations have dragged on for weeks.

Manager Rafa Benitez admitted: 'We were very close, but I don't know if something has changed since the last time I spoke to him, which was a few days ago. I still expect him to sign.'

He is a bit of a loose canon , but I would love to see him with us, I think he would feel at home here

I wont let it stop me, Messi is Argentinian aswell!! ACES!!!

We won't be signing Tevez, full stop. We had our chance last year and pursued other (injured) avenues.

As for £18mil, I'm surprised anyone bit. He cost more than that last year and has probably added £10mil this.

Torres & Tevez is a dream all right. But there is more chance of it happening at City than Liverpool.

Don't drag up last year's thread, the 'Tevez is shit/Kuyt is much better' one, no milage.

That bit about Mascherano's contract is worrying. Sounds like he's just sitting on it, waiting to see what happens to us in the summer. Understandable, but still...

maybe it's wishful thinking from the Tevez and Kia camp, no doubt if he's not happy there he would love it here with countrymen like Masher and Maxi plus he wouldnt have to move

the sticking points would be his ridiculous wage and transfer fee...

Even if we had to sell Torres I'd love to see him as our no1 target.

He has been f*cking fantastic since he came to England at WEst ham Utd and City.

He was brilliant in the CL final that they won and always always gives 100% for the cause.

I don't think he's sit well with Rafa though :-\

Where do you get that from? He'd be right up Rafa's street - hard worker as well as skilful, and he's Argie.

5 pages of wishful thinking/hysteria based on absolute bollocks.

What was the source, hmmm ?

As.Fucking.If. Citeh would sell him to us without something, other than money *cough* Fernando, in return.

Come on people, I know pickings are slim in the good news department but, really ?
