Let's pull up that (old chestnut of a) thread where certain 6cm cretins - were saying that Tevez was overrated and not what we needed.
I'm pretty sure there was one thread where I got a few slaps because Tevez wouldn't fit into our 4-3-3 formation, so what was the point?
The truth is that he isn't suited to Rafa's systems.
He's played more than 1 season of football you know.

He was outstanding at West Ham in a 4-4-2, made his name in Argentina in a 4-4-2, and has succeeded in both 4-4-2 and 4-5-1 formations for City this year.

He could play in any forward formation and score goals because he's that good.
We don't play 4-4-2, and the 1 in our 4-5-1 isn't going to be Tevez. Where does he play in a 4-2-3-1?

And I'd like him btw!
Anywhere along the 3. Besides, Rafa's (very) occasionally sent them out in a 4-4-2 this season. Who's to say he wouldn't do that more often with a player like Tevez at his disposal?
When we were trying to figure out how he was going to accommodate Robbie Keane in the side many of us said things like this.
I think that would still be the case if alonso were here, he isn't we have lucas and aqua so I have no problem whatsoever with tevez up front instead of gerrard with gerrard moving to CM.

YES PLEASE.

He should have been our big signing last year, not Aquilani ...
Given the astronomical fee and wages Shitty had to spend to get him, we'd need to have sold Alonso twice to affoird him.

tevez and bridge with j cole on a free would represent a fantastic summer

johnson---carra-----agger--------bridge
kuyt-----gerrard-----mash--------j cole
------------tevez------torres--------------

three players who would totally transform the team.

Tevez would be an excellent addition. Obviously.

If there was a deal in place for us to get him then we should bite their hands off.

Very nice aside from the ridiculous attempt to stuff Kuyt in there.

He's not a Right Mid - and never will be.

Any right sided Mid, who's played in that role all his career.

Anyways, since we're playing Fantasy Football, let's stick SWP in there.

I like Tevez greatly. He is perfectly suited to the league and has lots of talent. I didn't feel last year that we should be bidding 25 plus million for him, because of his attitude and poor season - but for 18 I would be seriously tempted. I'd still have grave doubts about his mental stability, but given our dire need for more match winners it makes it a risk worth taking.

First off...

I read somewhere that tevez, contrary to what people are saying in this thread, went for fucking huge money either in contract negotiations or payoff to that jooarbcunt fella.... in fact if i remember it right he was the biggest british signing ever.

It was pretty gobsmackingly daft money all told.

Secondly...

He has clearly done a good job at city and they are trying to acquire star players not sell them UNLESS of course it is a sweetener for us allowing them to buy Fernando.

Thirdly..

For 18M is still pretty expensive considering we are fucking broke and in the process of being sold.

It is in fact what is usually refered to as complete fucking bullshit.

I'd take Tevez for £18mill in a heartbeat. I wouldn't be adverse to flogging Torres if we can get mad money for him.

Better still Tevez and Adebayor.... 10M the pair.

also tevez linking up with his good friend mash may be a factor in tevez' mind (along with the big pay check of course). sell kuyt to free up a slot with our high earners.

Molby's right. The only way this would make any sense is if they're using Tevez as bait for a bid for Torres. Given the latter's injury problems, City's wealth and our poverty, that might not be such a bad deal. Although Torres is definitely the better player.

It appears it is possible to poach one of Ademonster, Santa Cruz and Tevez from City.

Considering our plight, i wouldn't say no to any of them.

Ademonster - The positives are that; 1. He is the most capable of the three to replace Torres in the system we employ. 2. He can also play as the target man and let Torres operate in the gap between the opponents midfield and their defense. Negatives for him is shitty hair style (what the fuck is that, really? He looks like a cartoon school girl - considering his size, that is quite an achievement), and his twatish behavior.

Tevez - He can be our Denise Bergkamp - enough said. The lad is quality, as Benitez says, but he is also a twat.

Santa Cruz - Is he over his injury troubles?

Not really Bunny. They don't care if they lose money, Madrid have done it for years, spend big on a player, doesn't work out, and they flog him. He's one of the top five biggest earners in Europe (a list was floating about a couple of weeks back), they might just want to offload him.

Agreed that they may see it as a sweetener for Torres. But I don't think it's inconceivable that they'd sell him for about £20million.
I'd be hard pushed to come up with a player less like "Denise" Bergkamp than Carlos Tevez.

If Bridge was going for sensible money, say 6 M, he'd be a very good buy. He's not as bad as people are making out, and he's English but will not be in the international set up, which suits us rightly.
