RedZep, 'nobody cares about the racism thing'?
I do. I hope Terry is found guilty
I do too. But I hope he's only found guilty if he is ... If he isn't, and it's just false accuastions (like it seems to be with Evra/Suarez), then that's a big problem too.
The thing is, it is different to the Suarez case in that a) there is footage of Terry using racist language (which he admits doing) which leads to b) he has explained his use of this language against a context that has already been proven to be false (i.e.. he was responding to an allegation on the pitch by Anton F that he had said 'you black c***') Ferdinand has said this did not happen, in fact, he wasn't even aware of a racial slur until after the game.
Suarez is one player's word against another's. Here the player has already provided a demonstrably false account of his use of racist language.
So it seems he's guilty... Let him rot.
No, it seems he's a racist. But to be guilty both him and ferdinand would have to testify to these things in court. The second hand statements attributed to ferdinand and terry on their club's websites are not admissable. It has to come out of their own mouths. So by the time the hearing happens, terry's solicitors will have in their possession all the evidence, and they will ensure that what comes out of terry's mouth is not demonstrably false.
