Terry's been shagging Bridge's wife, allegedley.

Somewhat tongue-in-cheek

England's Brave John Terry has been dropped as captain of England after a 12-minute meeting at Wembley with Fabio Capello today.

"After much thought, I have made the decision that it will be best for me to take the captaincy away from [EBJT]," Capello said in a statement released by the FA this afternoon.

"As a captain with the team, [EBJT] has displayed extremely positive behaviour. However, I have to take into account other considerations and what is best for all of the England squad. What is best for all of the England team has inspired my choice. [EBJT] was notified first."

It appears that Rio Ferdinand may be Capello's choice to replace Terry, with the Italian adding: "When I chose [EBJT] as captain, I also selected a vice-captain and also named a third choice. There is no reason to change this decision.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank the FA, particularly Lord David Triesman and Ian Watmore, for allowing me to make this decision in my own time and in the best interest of the team."

The defender met the England manager at Wembley Stadium this afternoon to discuss his role with the national side following the allegations that have surfaced regarding his private life and, specifically, a supposed relationship with the ex-girlfriend of Terry's former Chelsea team-mate Wayne Bridge.

Nope, I heard a radio report saying it was between him Rio and Rooney..

Nice one, Capello.

Terry should have had some dignity and resigned as captain, but this is much sweeter.

Roll on the tears.

terry should get the full on boot from the england set up for having the cheek not to resign. what a cunt.

Ha ha ha !

He's still a good player, like it or not.

I don't mind having cunts in a team if they can actually win something, or look like they might be able to.

John Terry faced new questions last night over his fitness to be England captain.

A Daily Mail investigation found his personal box at Wembley being 'touted out' for £4,000 a match.

Terry's contract to rent the luxurious 12-seater facility is subsidised to the tune of tens of thousands a year as one of his 'perks' as national team skipper. Its terms expressly forbid hiring it out.

But yesterday the Mail was offered exclusive use of it for England's friendly against Egypt next month by an associate of Terry's management agents.

'It's John Terry's box and you can have it,' said the go-between. 'It will be £4,000 and we would want the money in cash.' He said the player would provide a signed England or Chelsea shirt as 'part of the deal'.

Another reason for England not to win the World Cup.

Can you imagine, "Arise Sir Rio":

edit: had to change the picture as I realised the other one was against Liverpool.

Terry reportedly earns £170,000 every week just from Chelsea yet he still feels the need to charge punters for his box at Wembley and tours of the Chelsea training facilities. Grade A cunt.

Doesn't anyone GET what Blatter is on about?

John Terry would have been applauded in some countries rather than sacked as national team captain for having an alleged affair, according to FIFA president Sepp Blatter.

Terry was fired by England head coach Fabio Capello after a week of negative headlines about the defender's alleged affair with Wayne Bridge's ex-partner but the Chelsea player has had support from an unlikely quarter.

Blatter, in Vancouver for the International Olympic Committee's session, joked that in "Latin" countries such as France, Italy and Spain, Terry's conduct may not have been considered a problem.

Blatter said: "Listen, this is a special approach in the Anglo-Saxon countries. If this had happened in let's say Latin countries then I think he would have been applauded."

Terry was sacked by Capello after a brief meeting with the England manager last week.

The 29-year-old has now been given time off by Chelsea to address the issues in his personal life and will miss his side's FA Cup tie against Cardiff this weekend.

Chelsea assistant manager Ray Wilkins said: "He will not play this weekend. Carlo (Ancelotti) is giving him a bit of time off.

"They just had a little chat, John and Carlo, and decided that would be the best for all concerned."

Its fine a reformed drugs cheat is much better than a marital cheat. The golden bell end is as good as ours.

Maybe if he was a priest, but given that it's an athletic competition, I have more issue with the drug cheat. So does the sport incidentally, because Terry isn't suspended for many months is he?

Erm, yea, whatever. I've rescheduled drug tests too, and spent the intervening time chugging cranberry juice.

Didn't he miss numerous drugs tests?

Anyways, as I've said before, I would rather they don't win it to avoid a Sir Rio situation. Unless Liz chops his head off instead of course, then by all means.
