In all fairness it wasn't a bad result given we played on Monday night AND had that twat of a journey. Don't get me wrong - it was a poor performance and really not excusable but I'm hopeful for the second leg.
 
Seriously, Babel makes the wrong decision EVERY time. Chests it when he should head it, cuts inside when he should go the line, dribbles when he should pass, every fucking time. Clueless.

1-0. I'm baffled by why Atletico think that's such a brilliant result. They had us where they wanted us - energyless and lacking in inspiration - and if they'd attacked more, they might easily have got two or three goals there.

As it is, we go back to Anfield needing only a two-goal victory. Given that the Europa League is all we've got to play for, I reckon we'll be up for it.
 
If we don't beat that lot of shit at Anfield, then we don't deserve to go through. They are worse than us, not that we showed it tonight mind.
 
2 poor teams.. plenty of poor players.. and a very poor game.

I just hope our next manager can clear some of the deadwood.

Lucas, Kyrgiakos, N'gog, Babel, nowadays even Kuyt and Benayoun. All just awful.

With Torres - a poor result for Atletico.

Without Torres - a great result for them.. hell, they may even beat us at Anfield if Aguero is back.
 
Only 4 teams in La Liga have conceded more goals than A.Madrid this season - and not by much either. Their defence is woeful, they've had a woeful season (just like us) and we should've done better tonight. Wasted opportunity.

The players were obviously knackered. I don't think it's any coincidence that Barca, Lyon, Liverpool and Fulham scored a grand total of one goal between the four of them this week, after travelling by coach and train to play those matches.
 
Too knackered to have a decent first touch and be able to pass the ball to a team-mate?

I'm not having that as an excuse I'm afraid. If tiredness was an issue, they'd simply run out of steam rather than being fucking shit at football for 90mins.
