So, with little more than 24 hours to the crucial Champions League encounter against Lyon who'd you pick to bring home the three points?

In all honesty, I wouldn't be bothered if Babel never played for us again. He's a rapper, not a footballer.

That is probably the one area of the team that is the most difficult to decide these days.

Babel hasn't done much right so far this Season whereas Ngog is still young and quite unproven. Kuyt is another option but I reckon we will get more use of him on the right.

Don't get me wrong I wouldn't bet against Ngog starting, and that may even be the wiser choice, I would just really like to see what Babel would make of it were he actually entrusted by Rafa again - this baring his poor performance against Sunderland in mind.

He seems like such a fragile player in terms of confidence so who knows maybe he'll start to florish when he's started a few games in a row.

Remember seeing him play for Ajax when he was around 18-years-old and he looked like such a brilliant talent to me. Was then obviously extremely pleased when we bought him.

It haven't exactly worked out as planned.

I blame LL Cool Jay and Eminem for his demise.

He still looks like that raw, flawed and largely uncoached teenager today. Despite spending over two years with one of the most meticulous coaches in world football. It's never going to work out for him here. He just doesn't have the heart or the intelligence for it.

Babel has been better than kuyt over the past few weeks and still was our main threat on Saturday.
Ok that doesnt say a lot considering how poor deadly is.
The very little that we did on Saturday came from Babel's feet. I dont remember seeing Kuyt on that pitch.

I'd like to see Spearing given a go alongside Masher, so affording him better protection. Lucas is in need of a break following his 90 min Intl games and the Sunderland debacle. Gerrard in his usual role meaning he can drop deeper if Spearing struggles.

Spearing made a very useful sub appearance in the Champions league last season and deserves the opportunity to make amends for struggling saturday. A Masher/Spearing partnership cannot lack any more creativity than a Masher/Lucas one.

I wouldn't really be against that either Rebel, but if Babel doesn't start then it's pretty much confirmed that Rafa has finally given up on him.

If N'Gog is a starter, Kuyt must start alongside him in a 4-4-2. He really struggles without a partner, he is still too raw and inexperienced at leading the line alone.

You must be fucking blind. Babel did absolutely nothing on Saturday. Kuyt made things happen and had shots on goal. He didn't play particularly well, but at least he looked like he didn't want to lose. Babel looked like he was waiting for the playtime bell.

Funnily enough, I thought we looked much more threatening once Voronin came on against Sunderland, and at home against Lyon without Torres, I'd probably go for this:

Reina

Yossi - Gerrard - Mascher - Riera

Kuyt - Voronin

You'd give a Babel a run after Saturday?
I thought he was very poor, I know he wasn't alone in that regard, but he just looks so disinterested.
I think he'll go for Ngog but the rest of your team looks good.

I do think Rafa will play Lucas tomorrow though.
