Based on how knackered Milner was at the end of the game on Tuesday I think 90 mins against a very quick player like Martial might be too much for him. Id start Clyne and sub him when he inevitably starts to flag. We will need him over the next 3 or 4 weeks so he needs matches to build up his fitness.

Ki-Jana Hoever's been training with the first team. Interesting - I know there's a regular rotation of the best of the young ressies to visit Melwood but Hoever's so highly-rated it'll be worth monitoring how often he's there. Can play CB as well as right back...

Saw that, even though he’s only 16 you’d think he would be close to the first team.
Saw the highlights against Everton U23 and he impressed greatly.

Right back you can blood people in quite easily.

Hell get minutes this season

As with all kids he’ll make mistakes and take stick. Hoever will just have to suck that up.

I Hoever mind to say all these puns are wrong due to poor reading of Dutch

Easily done. Reminds me of an incident in the old atrocious sitcom Crossroads, when it went out live. During a key bit of dialogue, the actress who played the miserable midget maid Amy Turtle walked behind the two main characters and started vacuuming, thus drowning out everything they said. She'd misread the script where it said: 'As they speak, Amy Turtle hovers behind them'

I'm not sure to whom David Maddock has spoken, but he seems remarkably optimistic that Gomez will be back in contention as early as the second week in January, AND he thinks Oxlaide-Chamberlain could be back in full training by as early as the end of January. He hasn't written about this yet - he spoke about it to Paul Wheelock at the Echo - but he's deffo confident about it. Great if it turns out to be even true-ish.
