Yeh there’s always the gang who write folk off early, but look at Gakpo. Took just a few games to get going supported by a team who were awful for large parts of last season. Nunez did fairly well considering the same. McAllister will smash it from the off. This guy will be coming into a team that finished strongly last season and will have much more balance now it has an actual midfield.

I’m not saying we’re gonna win the league, but there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic.

If he is going to be a success here then a year of 'transition' is the very least I'll be expecting.

He does appear to have the skills and qualities that will translate, so fingers crossed he can deliver and join the likes of Son, Haaland and KDB in making the PL their playground.

In the mean time, being better than Henderson and Elliott shouldn't be too much of an ask.

I completely agree with your initial points, right now this signing has given me hope based Klopp getting the best out of his skillset.

True. But the same for Son who scored 4 or 5 goals in his first season. KDB also did not do that well in his first spell at Chelsea.

I’d say Rodgers failed to use him properly but to be fair to him (Rodgers), he was desperately trying going for quick fixes to save his job. Hence Benteke.
