From Soccernet:

Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is happy at the club at present but has indicated he would welcome the chance to join Barcelona in the future.

Reports have linked Szczesny, 21, with a move to the Spanish and European champions, the Poland international having been in fine form for the Gunners so far this season, despite their poor start to the Premier League.

Szczesny signed a new long-term contract at Emirates Stadium in November 2010, having firmly established himself as Arsene Wenger's first-choice shot-stopper, and the youngster considers Arsenal "his second home".

But, of the recent speculation over his future, Szczesny told polskathetimes.pl: "I can't declare that I will spend my entire career here, but if I leave I will have a very important reason or I will go to Barcelona."

Szczesny added that, should he leave Arsenal in the future, his decision over his destination would not be financially motivated. He said: "I can't imagine a situation where I would leave this club just for money."

Amid claims Arsenal lack leaders on the pitch, Szczesny has stated his ambition to one day captain the club, with Robin van Persie the side's current skipper following the sale of Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona in the summer.

He said: "I feel that when I say something, everyone listens to me. More so on the field than in the dressing room, but that's more important I think.

"I want to be the captain of the team. I feel that I am able to take on that responsibility. I always wanted to be captain and if I ever get that honour, I will gladly put on the armband."

Wtf!? Barcelona...captain? Have I missed something here, is he really that good/promising?

He's a great goalkeeper, what Arsenal have needed for years. He's no Reina/Cech though, similar level to De Gea i'd say.

But seriously, talk about being above your station, he's barely been in the team a year, he's a little arrogant. To be fair to him though, arrogance is a good trait for a goalkeeper to have, less indecision and all that.

Good shot stopper but prone to an error every now and again.

I suppose his back four don't inspire confidence do they.

Yep.

He's agile and capable of making eye catching saves but also lets in some soft goals.

Needs a full season under his belt before we can make a firm judgment.
