Super Mario

Yeah but the yin to that^^^^ yang is that Dreamy didn't like him against Costa Rica, cos he was at the game. A game that we all saw too.

Tough one.

I guess we'll see Ryan, but I'll try and not be too snug when he's being a bellend moody twat after 3 months or when we are losing away to Villa and can't be arsed running down defenders but instead stands on the half way line hands on hip.

Bears serious resemblance to the Sturridge signing.
No it doesn't.

Studge was never given a chance to shine as a striker at Chelsea or City. He went to Bolton, was played there and was class.

He didn't end up on the front pages every month for childish immature unprofessional behavior.

Studge's problem always was that he didn't have a coach who trusted him to play up front, instead he got shoved out wide.

Once he got a manager who played him consistently up front he shone.

Mario has always played up front, gotten extended runs, has had a manager he claimed himself were like father to him and still ends up being f*cked off every single time.

This time despite being at his dream club and having a decent goal return, the club are willing get rid for peanuts. If that doesn't tell you that the warning signs are f*cking massive then nothing will.

I'm actually shocked someone who claims to be a footballing demi God would be duped into thinking it bears serious resemblance at all.

I think that no matter how Balotelli turns out, he injects a fear factor into playing against us again that we lost when Suarez left.
I think it'll fuck with a lot of heads on opposing teams knowing that they are facing Sterling, Sturridge and Balotelli.

Well well said.

@FinallyMario: When some one is driving a Ferrari and he flash you than, just get the f*** out of the way! Pff ( in case i would do the same )

@FinallyMario: Or maybe i just should buy a TANK!

Love this guy already!

It bears serious resemblance in that he's cheaper than he should be striker, and comes with some attitude baggage.

That was the context in which Sheik and I were weighing up the signing. You've taken that out of context and are now running furiously with some other nonsense in the forlorn hope of point-scoring. Which, given you've failed to respond to continued requests from me in other threads over the last week or so regarding your allegations about my posts, is a mixture of irony and predictable frustration.

Not so sure about this signing, but I have this strange feeling that if he turns out good for us and we show him the same love we showed Torres, and Suarez when they turned out good for us - then I believe that there is something about this guy that will make him want to stay at Liverpool despite other big("richer") clubs wanting to sign him and take him away from us.

Dreamy, your striker suggestion in this summer window was to spend 10M on Torres.

Your opinion on this matter is completely irrelevant.

Suarez's problems and genius were both displayed during a footy game, I don't reckon he had any issues off the pitch, did he? His problem was that he would do anything to win and at least two of his biting (not sure about what he did in Holand) episodes ocurred when his team was losing a big game. He was a bit highly strung when playing a very competitive game. He had very clear issues.

Cant quite say the same about Balotelli, who is a proper mentalist and no body knows what is his trigger.....he just seems like he could act like a nutter on any given day.

like most i'm pretty excited about this , as said before we're all just big kids who love a 'big name' signing . But it's only a few weeks ago that i was watching him thinking how unbelievably shite he was , the lack of effort was like nothing i have ever seen before . So lets see what rodgers can do with him , can they get into his head and convince him that it's time to fulfill the potential ? My heart says 'yes' but the head says 'no'.

It's not quite last chance saloon but if he fucks up here then i'm pretty sure he'll be dropping down a level of club with his next move.

Are we really signing a "star"?

In some ways I suppose we are given that he's a big name in football but to me a star is someone that everyone wowed by and gushes over. That's not the case with the Balotelli transfer. He's basically been fucked off by his current club and we're all wondering to varying degrees whether this gamble will pay off or not.

I've decided I don't really care about the financial risk. 16M is less than what we paid for Downing and these days fuck all. Even if we have to write off that fee (like we did with Downing) in a years time it'll be more than worth it if we get into the CL again.

I think Sturridge tweeted something like "teamwork makes the dream work" after Southampton game. Bit lame, but truth is we've all pretty much bought into that with Liverpool over the last 12 months (though I still have lingering doubts over Sturridge's genuine commitment to that philosophy - is it just me?). That's the primary concern here. I don't want to see someone like Balotelli come in and fuck that up in any way.

Fingers crossed that he knuckles down and we get to giggle the season away at how lucky we were to grab him at a bargain price.

Balotelli is, for better or worse, one of the best known players in the world.

A shortened version of this spot's been airing in the US a lot lately, but with just Bolt and Balotelli.

You'd be surprised how many people, even here, instantly recognize Balotelli. One of my friends, who just casually keeps up with the sport, is now determined to keep up with the Premier League and Liverpool since Balotelli will be joining.

I would say he's a star player for sure.

And when we signed Sturridge and Coutinho I was one of the few who said it was brilliant business while you thought very differently.

The point being people get predictions wrong all the time it doesn't mean you can use the same tired line in every thread to dismiss their point.

My concerns on Mario are all completely valid.

Or should I just quote everyone one of your posts and say 'This is the guy who said Hayden Mullins would be an England regular for years. His opinions are irrelevant'

If Mario knuckles down then we will be very lucky indeed however I think there is more chance of Ryan making me his ghost writer for the Memoirs of his playing days.

I didn't even say that^^.

Besides, claiming Mullins might get a game for England is hardly on a par with:

$10M for Torres a month ago
$10M for Amir Zaki
$8M for Stephen Hunt
Joey Barton
And every singe post you've ever fucking made is it?

Well considering you can't prove than any of those signings wouldn't have worked out your point is pretty shit even for you.

As for you last line, I'm sure you remember the thread somebody made showing how I predicted a bright future for both Coutinho and Sturridge when they signed, something that you angrily disagreed with at the time. Strange I don't recall you responding to that thread at all. And you say I like selectively replying.

Firstly, you do like "selectively replying"; I've given you two examples of that in the last hour. Which you're still ignoring.
Secondly, please feel free to show me the thread where "I angrily disagreed with you" over the signing of Coutinho and Sturridge.

And thirdly, your first point/sentence up there is fucking embarrassing. Even for you.

Dreamy, this is going badly for you, and will only end worse.

Hey in terms of his off field stuff, he comes across as a bit mental but fun and I have no problem with that at all... it will certainly keep us in the headlines which is maybe no bad thing really....

What we need is the guy to start playing to his ability...

Then we will have bought a bargain.

I would have preferred Falcao but then... thats why Falcao costs 50M....

I have to say I'm quite pleased if we do sign him... gonna make for an interesting season

Well, that's what I said, that he's a name player. And again, as I said, that's not quite the same, at least for me, as being a genuine star... on the pitch.

Everyone knew who Freddy Adu (*) was. I'm saying there is a difference between fame and ability on the pitch and when you're talking about a star player you really don't give a fuck how famous he is. You want star performances.

(*) No, I'm not saying Balotelli is comparable to Adu. Just using first name that popped into my head to make a point.

I get what you're saying but we're signing player in his prime, who is considered to be one of the best players in Italy.
He's their big star. The closest we've come to signing a player like him in the past 25 years is Morientes or Torres.
One wasn't in his prime, the other was a rising star.
Sure Balotelli isn't a Cavani or a Falcao but he's still a star and a marquee player.

I think you need to do a search in this thread and read what Pirlo has just said about his maturing and coming to Liverpool.

Will that be like how you weren't too snug (sic) when the Keane signing didn't quite work out? A situation I personally believe was caused entirely by the negative vibes you generated in the SCM ether

Dreamy - valid concerns, but he's not a 'moany' git all the time ... and the kid is heading to the first club with fans like ours (He'll love the adulation he gets) and a manager who has a track record with yooth. Sure, it may fail but it's a small investment for a player of this talent ... If Rodgers can do what Mancini, Allegri & Mourinho failed to do, we'll be pissing ourselves with laughter ...
