Of course I'm blaming Klopp. He knows what Lucas is. Bringing him on was capitulation. These free-kicks around the box aren't anecdotal, they're the story of the last decade. It's beyond blaming the player now, it's on the manager for picking the pathetic fucking cunt.

I respect Klopp's judgement, but it is about time he realised that bringing Lucas on towards the end of a game is not a safe thing to do, it is a very dangerous thing to do.

He did it 4 or 5 times this season and that's the first time it cost us, if I'm not forgetting anything. I don't remember anyone complaining about Lucas when we held out at 2:1 against Chelsea at the Bridge and barely gave them a chance.

It was going to be tough. People look knackered... But we should have kept them away when 2-1 up. Stupid handball from Mane. We will get freekicks against from time to time. Today it felt like we defended set pieces worse than normal.

I think we lacked that accuracy and tempo when we had the ball. Dont know if it was all down to tired legs. The pitch looked dumpy as well.

We need reinforcements.

Mane is off, Sturridge barely got touched and has probably fucked his knee for a couple of months.

Lucas and Moreno are quite shit.

Our squad depth is crap, just look at our bench.

2 points lost, it's annoying but let's go batter the scum in 2 weeks time!

So we should sell the entire defence and Klopp cant get one sub right, ever?

Yes, and the consensus on Lucas went from "let's have a testimonial for a good servant of the club" to "I want his head on a stick." That's to be expected though, everybody is frustrated with the points we lost, especially as we were ahead twice.

Agreed with the last part.

My Manc mate texted me earlier and said that they have been robbed this season with penalty decisions, calling us penaltypool. I've already said I'm gonna tackle him hard during the next footy practice, the jinxy bastard

Whole team was shit but Bobby Firmino doesn't half look like a pub player sometimes. Fucking useless.

Farky - bollocks. We all give Klopp the plaudits regularly, he got it wrong with both subs. If Lucas is going, whats the mentality behind playing a fucking renowned liability, ahead of young players with a future here? We were on the front foot and it was totally negative and counter-productive.

If he gets the praise and adoration then he rightly should be criticised when he gets it wrong. KCDNW bullshit.

That's not really what I'm getting at all. This team - - especially without coutinho - - has no right to win every game. If that's the pace that Chelsea can set, then they're a better team than us, and no chance we can catch them. I think klopp has done extremely well to have us playing some great football with some significant room for improvement.

The problem is that any time a Liverpool team gets anywhere near the top of the table, the expectations shift dramatically, regardless of context. Let's say I agree that klopp got it wrong today, and I genuinely don't find much evidence for that with the subs... though was def surprised about the lineup. I still would find it hilarious to be angry at him.

If you have a striker that bangs in 2 goals a game then has a stinker, it's churlish to be angry at them, even if you think their performance contributes to a loss.

You responded to one hyperbole bellend by generalising about the forum being like a zoo. To match every over-reactive critic, there's always a similarly over-enthusiastic poster who finds positivity in *everything*. Both are annoying. Let's just call a spade a spade, it was a lost opportunity that wasn't helped by a poor performance and some poor in-game decisions.

Meanwhile at the London Stadium, referee Mike Dean sends off West Ham's Feghouli for absolutely nothing.

Tottenham will beat Chelsea. They play Leicester Away after that.. The Schedule fucked us. It was always going to be tough to get a result away from home after a Big home game..

Utd is the tbh I am most concerned about.. If they win Today their tails will be right up when they play us next..

That being said I expect them to draw at the very most with West Ham.. They will suffer the same issues as we did..

No team has won away from home Today..

Either draw or Chelsea win for me, we need to stay in top 4.

From the teams sitting in top 4 now, only 1 side stands out that can collapse.

We are chasing top 4 people. Accept that and youll be really happy with where we are.
Chelsea winning 13 on the spin is other wordly. We cant help that.

Is it just me or is their something really depressing about "the battle for top 4" ?

I get the importance of it I really do...financially, attracting players, having big C.League nights etc but the obsession with it these days is all a bit weird for me.

CL is the pinnacle competition in world football. We should be obsessed about getting back in the mix if we want to compete long term for the league

It is a Battle for top four, and we need to fight it. Chelsea has been unusual strong and actually built a gap against teams that have hardly dropped Points. That is impressive. If they had played a Draw or two that had been Natural over the 13 games spell we would have been over the moon With 10 out of 12 Points over the festive period.

For Liverpool's case, it's understandable though.

Cos we last qualified for it via 13/14 season
Cos it will mean progress (having finished 8 and 6 over the past 2 seasons)
Cos there's virtually a Big 6 as compared to Big 4 years ago
Cos of the revenue that comes along with it
Cos it does help in attracting players of certain stature/quality

For the likes of Arsenal who have been making the top 4 year in year out, such target may be unambitious but for a side like us who have finished in the top 4 only once in the past 5 seasons and below 5th place 6 times out of the past 7 seasons, it means much more.
