Summer transfers (ideal scenario)

Mbappe is a definite no go for a start.... there is no way in hell Monaco would sell that kid for that figure.

A lot of the other prices look too low to me aswell, let alone us having competition to sign from clubs with more power than us.

We definitely have to get CL to even attract some of those names.

I do love the optimism of some posters on this thread, believing we have even a sniff of a chance as players like Mbappe or Bakayoko. Someone also went full retard with Talisca. NO! Also some of the figures quoted in and out are hyperbole

Let's lower our expectations people.

Goalkeeper -
In - Either Ward (Free obvs) or Kasper (£15m), Personally, i'd like to give Ward a run in the 1st team.
Butland is a luxury we won't afford (£30m), and Hart is not an improvement. Donnarumma would cost a pretty penny too.
Out - Couldn't give a monkeys, either will fetch around £8m, I'd rather sell Ming, it's a toss up though.

Left Back
In - Depends on the CL situation, hopefully it'll be Kolasinac (Free), however I can see us buying Sessenon for a further (£6m + add ons) regardless of where we finish
If we don't get CL, it'll probably be Chilwell (Joy) with Milly filling in again next year. Forget about Jonas Hector, it ain't happening. Jetro Willems could be a wild card but would be expensive if we want to snap up in the summer as PSV will want to maximise a profit (£15m)
Out - Moreno (£5m)

Centre Back
In - As per my thread, it could be one of any. Virgil Van Dijk could be the marquee signing for £40m, however failing that it could be Michael Keane, Ben Gibson or Harry Maguire, all with Premier league experience, all under 25 so sits within FSG policy. Point being it'll be one from a range of £10-40m. It also very much depends on how much we shell out on a LB
Out - Sakho - £15m (I said £10m in another thread, however interest appears to have picked up, at least in the media).

Right Back
In - None needed
Out - Flanagan (£2-3m) Sadly

Centre Mid
I don't expect too much movement here, we are pretty stocked. Ejaria will hopefully step up,
In - Dahoud if we get CL £8m (Release clause), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain - I can see us buying him for around £15m
Obviously there are some options such as Gray from Leicester, Chalobah from Chelsea, Keita I expect interest will cool on both sides. Paredes will be continually linked with us throughout the silly season.
Out - Lucas (Free), Can (£20m) controversial, but I don't see him improving at all, and he can't play in the same team as Henderson.

Forwards/Wings
In - Brandt if we get CL £16-18m (Release clause), Dolberg is interesting but I can see us getting Dembele from Celtic (£30m+add ons) and interest in Dolberg cooling,
Gabigol for £15m could be a wildcard too. Solanke as a back up would be interesting.

Pulasic I very much doubt will be allowed to leave for anything less than silly money,
Werner I don't protest to know too much about.
Coric is interesting as well, but it never sits well with me going back for players who burn us.
James - Too expensive and is doubtful he'd be interested.

Out - Markovic (£5m), Sturridge (£20m)

Probably missed a few so in summary:
Keeper - Free to £15m
LB - Free to £21m on 2 incoming players
CB - £30m to £50m on 2 incoming players
Mid - £25m on 2 incoming players
Fwd - £60m on 3 incoming players
Net outlay max - £171m on 10 incoming players (It'll be less than this, I expect we'll spend around £120-130m if we make the CL, £100-110m if we don't)

Net Income - £76m on 8 outgoing first 'squad' players

Meaning Max outlay c£100m Which is won't be, it'll be Max £60m provided we make the CL, £40m without - So expect some cheaper options

Obviously if Coutinho goes, then we need to replace with someone as a like for like. I always have high hopes for a transfer window. The above options are realistic targets for me.

Anfield HQ Twitter account quoting Paul Joyce - I think from The Times - that FSG are going to stop twatting about and give Klopp the largest transfer budget in LFC history this summer

Which is quite exciting

Net or gross.. The devil is in the detail. Either way I don't think we've had many +£50m net transfer windows.

Sorry, I didn't see the whole article, but it probably wasn't that specific.

Even so, while we've heard this before, I still like hearing it. It's the hope that kills you...

FSG now seem to know that we need established first team players and not just young, up and coming talents.

Could be an interesting summer. Shame 3-4 other clubs will be spending loads of money aswell.

Ah they always do. But feeling like we will be among the very big spenders is always nice.

Ming £15m
Karius £15m
Sturridge £35 plus (to the Chinese, and tell those East End Monkeys to F'OFF)
Moreno £12m
Lazar £12m
Origi £18m
Allen De Souza £7m
Emre Can £27m

Talking of stupid.

I know I know I know, but... We got 15M for Jordon Ibe last year, and 6M for Brad Smith - which is mindboggling now to think about it. The market's gone and got fucked.

The market may be fucked but the market is not £18m for Origi and £27m for Emre Can fucked.

*Nothing* is that fucked.

yeah i can see us spending £100m after selling coutinho and co for £90m

we don't really have anyone worth cherry-picking , so it would be nice if we could add one or two proper class additions as well as maintaining the current core group

West Ham are hoping to get £32m for Carroll, well if that's not fucked what is? And if we can get £15m for Ibe than we are practically giving Origi away for £18m

I don't think those valuations are that far off frankly.

Watford turned down 35M for Troy Deeney for fucks sake.

Dahoud has reportedly agreed to join Dortmund. So that's one down.

Chelsea reportedly entered the race for Van Dijk, using Ake as bait.

And we'll facilitate the Van Dijk deal by selling Sakho to Saints.

According to the German media we are interested in Max Meyer, Goretzka and Kolasinac.
Meyer will have one year left on his contract this summer and could be available for 17 mill if he decides to leave.
Goretzka is also stalling on a new contract.

James Rodriguez has his heart set on Bayern Munich apparently. As I keep saying, we will continually be linked by players agents to some of the top talent. We have no chance of getting them. We won't be buying any first team players from other top Champions League teams.

So have Schalke become the German Sothampton

We certainly need another diminutive attacking midfielder who doesn't score many goals.

Apart from Bayern, and arguably Dortmund, the entire Bundesliga is Southampton.

He means by us poaching from the same team continually - First Matip, now linked to Meyer, Goretzka and Kolasinac.
Compare and contract with our dealings with Southampton over the past few seasons.

For some of the transfers, value for money cant be compared though in regards to buying from Southampton and Schalke, or indeed the Bundesliga and Premier League.

Well, this will please a lot of us, if its true mind.

Marseille are interested in Ming, according to Sport.fr

We were supposed to be massively interested in dahoud last summer (30 million plus bids etc.) and we were expected to go for him in again this year. Now we find out our interest in him has suddenly cooled. All seems strange

Cooled? He signed for Dortmund, we are trying to save face.

There an article I read somewhere that attempts to explain this 'cooling'

Something about Henderson doing well in the position he would have played, Wijnaldum as the 'Golden Thread' or something, and also Lallana in midfield. And also wanting to keep Can

Then finishes by saying a more robust defensive player like Keita is what Klopp wants. Or something like that anyway
