Summer rebuild 2023

The new sponsor agreement with Standard Chatered starts this summer, and The Athletic report that we have extended (with better terms) the agreement with Expeida as well. Everything will help while setting up a big transfer kitty.

So that sorts the flights for new signings, and, if Zidane's house is not available, they can get a good flight + 3 star hotel bundle, with a city center bus tour thrown in.

I think it covers the fuel for Henry’s private jet.

Seen a couple of random links now about selling Jota. One with a figure of £65m. Going to have to say i really like him but considering his injuries if we can get 50-60m then it probably should be accepted.

As with everything - the problem isn’t selling him, even at £65m - it’s how we replace him.

If we sell him - we need a new forward - so selling him to fund, say a new CB or additional MF’er, we end up leaving us short up front - Carvalho certainly isn’t ready to back up Mo, Diaz, Nunez & Gakpo and just those 4 is one short for me.

If we sell for £65m and it funds another Gakpo & Konate - with us still signing a Bellingham & Koopmeiners - then… great - but if it leads to just a Bellingham, Koopmeiners & Gvardiol, as good as he is - we’re just shifting the problem round the team.

Only way we get Jude is if we already had something signed and sealed ages ago and Dortmund wanted it kept quiet. Maybe when the Tchouameni then fell through.

He still ain’t coming though. Neither is Mbappe

If the Newcastle interest in Jota is real and a potential fee could be 65 mill £, then we would probably have to give it some serious thought.
We're losing Bobby as well though, so a Jota sale would result in a need to spend on an attacker. Wouldnt mind seeing us going for a right sided forward that can also play upfront. That would give us more balance.

Jota does have his fitness issues. 65 mill would probably be to good to turn down.

65m would be good and would give us something to think about.......if they'd be willing to through in Allan Saint Max as well, then we can start talking.

Is Doak the 5th man?

Does Saint Maximim flatter to deceive? Whenever I’ve seen him over the last year he’s a fancier Traore with the same end product.

I've not seen loads of him. The comparison is perhaps a tad harsh because he doesn't seem quite as brainless and seems to have the ability to scares defenders.

But he'll be 26 soon as his numbers are shit. He's got 1 goal this season.

Probably harsh but the main point is the lack of end product.

He is what he is...a very explosive type player who gets bums off seats...you can never have too few a player like that.

He's been a bit out of favour of late which would be good news.

Not so sure about the same end product as Adama, last season ASM was creating a hatful of chances which his team mates like Joelinton and Almiron couldn't convert...you can't blame Diaz and Mo for creating chances Nunez misses can you?

That’s why I said over the last year. When I’ve seen him that final ball isn’t there. He’s either taking shots from stupid positions or his final pass isn’t reaching the target. I’m not sure on his “big chances created”.

I would trust the manager / management team with £65m to replace Jota. Also a chance to rebalance the forward depth by adding someone who can actually play on the right but they seem to be like hens teeth atm.

Also happy to keep him if the price is wrong

Saint-Maximin has probably got the best dribbling ability in the league and is ultra quick, but his end product is one of the worst in the league. If he was even reasonably good at shooting and passing he'd easily be a 100M+ player. But he's shite.
And these are all thing you've worked out then yes or are you just seeing his goals and assists numbers and coming to that conclusion because their not in the double figures bracket?

He'd be a more than useful squad player for us.

Steve Bruce who's hardly renown for his attacking style of football wasn't the man for someone of Allan's ability to bring the best out of....Klopp turns these type of players into world class.

Think about it.....Eddie Howe's taken Almiron from a 0 goal a season player under Bruce into a player who can get 10 goals a season......and that's in the same Newcastle side.

Gvardiol will cost £80m+
Evan N'Dicka - Free
Jurrien Timber - €45m can play RB
Jude Beliingham €130m - Klopp want's him
Edson Alvarez - I know nothing about him, his YouTube reels make him look poor
Ismael Bennacer €50m they wanted for him - does not excite me one bit
Ruben Neves - €30 -40m will only has one year left in June
Youri Tielemans - Free, no brainer in my view
Nicolo Barella - $70m.

If I had to choose from that list
Evan N'Dicka, Jurrien Timber, Jude, Ruben Neves and Youri Tielemans, these 5 would cost under £250m

Marcus Edwards AMF/Winger (24) , Sporting Lisbon value at 25m

Edit:- should face Arsenal tonight

Can see Sporting wanting a bit more than that....they don't need to sell.

Good player, decent back up option to Mo but I can't help but read overhyped across his forehead and foresee him ending back at Spurs after paying about 40m for him and then going down a similar route to Sessegnon...used as a bit part player, before picking up an injury and before long ends up somewhere in the championship.
