Reports from Barcelona based radio station RAC1 claim this evening that Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara is considering his future and Manchester City are interested.

The 22-year-old Spaniard (of Brazilian origin) has been made available for transfer by Barcelona, who are effectively sounding out the market for his value. According to Catalan paper El Mundo Deportivo.

Wenger has had money. He's increased the wage bill on a yearly basis and had something like 63 professional players connected to the club last season. How he's spending it only Wenger knows.

Believe what you want, I'm not getting into a Rafalike discussion about a team and manager I couldnt care less about.

I always assumed that the reason Arsenal don't spend much money is because they are paying off the stadium, so either can't pay huge fees or, more likely, need to stick to a wage structure, meaning that they can afford the fees but the players who command those fees would need paying too much.

It doesn't make an awful lot of sense that Wenger would simply be refusing to spend money or stubbornly refusing to pay high wages to players. He'd have been sacked years ago if he was that mad

Didn't Wenger spend in the region of 50M last season on players?

The net spend wasn't particularly high because of the outgoings but just because he's not spending Chelsea / City esque sums of money doesn't mean he's not spending.

They haven't really got anyone worth zillions now.

Which makes that 4th place thing look pretty damn impressive from a tactics perspective, even if the philosophy as just running the club to make tons of money is well cack.

Bendtner's so far amazing career seems to be continued in Germany with Eintracht Frankfurt.

If this upcoming Season doesn't work out for him either, his last one with Juve was mainly mared by injuries and sheer stupidity off the pitch, then I could end up beeing proved very wrong with regards to my estimations for the lad.

Their wage bill has increased from 90 mill when they moved to the Emirates and is now 143 mill.
The increase in your average wage is obviously a factor but players like Chamakh are on pretty decent money.
So, if they dont have the money why Are they increasing it every year? Regardless of selling their best players.

He's also spent 50 mill in the last two seasons. They've sold their best players mind, but they wanted to leave and wasnt forced because of lack of funds.

Anyway, Jovetic is apperantly on his way to Juve.

The 30-year-old is a long-standing target of Cottagers manager Martin Jol, who has attempted to bring in the Dnipro midfielder on several occasions before.

Boateng's transfer had to be put on ice previously due to contract disputes with his Ukrainian club, but a deal now looks to have been struck.

The former Getafe, Cologne and Beitar Jerusalem midfielder took to Twitter today to post a photo of himself holding a Fulham shirt at the club's Motspur Park training ground, with the comment "I'm finally happy!!!"

In an earlier post, Boateng tweeted: "I have signed a two-year deal with Fulham FC! I'm happy to see this deal confirmed! Thanks God, my family and everyone who support me!"

Fulham have yet to officially confirm the move.

What, Babel??

No, quote didnt work, I meant Thiago Alcantara the Barca midfielder. No doubt they will sell him with a clause in his contract and make sure to tap him up every six months if he progresses at another club, like they usually do

According to ABola, Vitor Pereira signed a pre-contract agreement with Everton two months ago. The agreement was brokered by Pereira’s agent Christophe Henrotay, who was employed by his client to explore alternative management positions away from Portugal. The contract, should it come to fruition, was for Vitor Pereira to pen a 2-year deal at Goodison Park.

44-year-old Vitor Pereira has had a successful two seasons in charge of the Dragons, during which time he has won back-to-back Liga Sagres titles, as well as taking Porto to the 2012–13 Taça da Liga final where they lost to Braga.

The 21-year-old has been subject to speculation for a number of years since coming through the ranks at Santos and establishing himself as a key part of the Brazilian national team.

Neymar has attracted interest from across Europe, but Rodriques says that a move to Barcelona is the player's preference.
"Neymar has told us he wants to sign for Barcelona," he told Ser Esports.

"There are other proposals but he has preferences for Barca. There is no official Madrid proposal for Neymar but we know that this offer will come.

"We held conversations in Spain with the Barca board of directors and there are on-going talks but nothing has been decided.
"But the negotiations need to continue because the first bid we were offered was not enough. We know that Madrid had a bid and will be presenting it soon, but I haven't talked to (club president) Florentino Perez.

"We know that the athlete's opinion is important. What we have to do is to find a way to unify the best offer with the player's interest."
Neymar has been a regular fixture in Luiz Felipe Scolari's Brazil squads and the former Chelsea boss was full of praise for the youngster.

"He is an example to follow as a sportsman," he said to Canal+.

"I have spoken to Sandro Rosell about how he behaves on the training pitch and about his personality and he really is an example to follow.

"Barcelona are clearly leading the race for his signature. He would be a great signing for Barcelona.

"He would be an idol for the fans next season alongside Lionel Messi," he added.
