Really is.

Couldve been jose managing us tonight, doubt it'd have panned out differently.

Absolutely zero pace, it's depressing as fuck.

Heyho No sunday matches next season ! (hopefully, fingers crossed the F.a cup final doesnt fuck us over)

Rafa would have won us this game. With the same squad including injuries.
There I said it.
Plus:
Not bringing on Pacheco is a fucking horrendous decision.

Quite. It looked awful on paper, awful after 30 mins, awful at half-time, awful at 60 mins...etc

And still Kenny persisted with the most narrow and paceless 4-4-2 my bleeding eyes have ever seen.

Terrible night all round.

Regardless of the rubbish squad, the tactics were dire.

yep.

too concerned with giving away an away goal even when we had nothing to lose.
also in the final few minutes we definately could have taken off wilson and brought on patches and gambled.

cautious home and away

It would be alright with Alonso, Mascherano, Torres, Aquilani, Riise and Crouch in it.

I said after his first few cameos during Rafa's last season that he may not be as good as we all thought - I was obviously hounded.

The fact Kenny, who's given a ton of kids a chance, isn't giving him sub appearances is rather telling. Maybe there's a reason, but I don't see him here next year.

Oh - Liam is spot on. Shit tactics.

we are a team with NO left back ,left winger , right winger and NO proper defensive midfielder and i lucas is still utter shit cunt despite playing a few avarage performances this season.

Kenny is a novice in Europe and it showed. With a bench like we had tonight, we couldn't expect any other result.

This tie was lost last week and tactically we were poor.

Gambling. We had nothing to loose. Why not bring him on?
Has he really been given enough chances to deem him as shit?
This lad won the U20 European championships golden boot last year.

Agree about the tactics...too cautious.
Only a Sunderland win in the weekend can up my spirits now. But I doubt it'll happen.

We were very bad shows what we really need and that's a busy summer bring in alot of players.

*prays the FA cup doesn't "jew us over"*
Yes. Glad I'm not the only one to notice that.

Someone needs to explain...

Kenny is not delivering in Europe and this is a concern. Might be just a phase. Hodgson's record in Europe is more impressive, and he might have won this. Can't believe I just said that.

I didn't want to make the Europa, but now we're out it feels brutal. I hope NESV buy big this summer. Otherwise, we'll be in for another dark spell..

Whether or not Kenny is struggling in Europe doesn't matter now anyway as he won't be in it for a while now!

he doesn't seem to struggle domestically, which is handy!

The tactics have been dire in a few games, no one has the bollocks to mention it tho.

That said, yeah, the squad is wank. Tell me something I didn't know 12 months ago.

It's a line from Southpark, I don't think HC is deliberately trying to insult an entire religion, he is just being stupid.

Cartman: Kyle, so help me God if you Jew us out on this one, I'll f(beep)king kill you.

He's saying if you rat us out/tell on us etc etc...

No offence intended just trying to explain.

It's a shame Suarez was ineligible. Braga were playing an incredibly high defensive line and if we had any player with real pace on the pitch we could have seriously buggered up their offside trap . . . . provided the officials didn't flag for offside anyway, as they seemed to have a very sketchy grasp of the rules of football.

Gonzalez and Cole hardly contributed anything, so it is not surprising we created few chances. We improved when N'Gog and Spearing came on.
Gonzalez was terrible. I can barely recall hearing his name.
😀 Exactly.

Strangely the majority of posters at the start of the match thread were confident and saying they were impressed with the team bought out. We knew that we two of our greatest goal threats were unable to play for different reasons but what hurt us on the night was that one of the few remaining threats - Ming - had a very poor night.

Sure, we were sadly lacking in pace but, apart from a bright opening 15 minutes we looked much to cautious. It was Rafa at his best and no, he'd have failed dismally to get us through. In fact I would expect we'd have lost again under Rafa for this game because tactics would have been pretty similar but the players not interested.

I'm lost as to why we didn't try and inject a little bit of spice late on in the game when it was clear we were heading out the door. We had begun to look very stale by 70 minutes and we had one approach only; kick it up to the big guy.

Kuyt had a very forgetable match, Cole - after a very bright begining - either faded or lost interest, Ming was terribly off colour, Maxi was a no show and Carroll, despite all his effort, couldn't do it alone.

Johnson, Carra, Pepe and Lucas were the only ones besides Carroll who really performed.

carra? I thought carra was one of the main reasons we couldn't build any momentum. I don't think I've ever seen a centre back send so many long balls in a single game.

The one thing Carra had in his favour is that at least his long balls had a direction and reasonable accuracy at times.

Half the time we just hoofed it aimlessly.

Shocking.
