Muslera isnt world class at all but he's a very good goalkeeper.
Their defence is more suspect imho. Godin is good but the rest is meh.

Luis familiy have confirmed the operation went well apparantly. Expected to be out for 2-3 weeks.

Keepers are a strange breed

World class keepers can stop you losing games

As can good ones

Even average ones have their day.

Sorry mate.

Soon as I saw this thread I knew it would contain my 3 initial thoughts:
1. Comment that it would be good for us Suarez having a rest this summer.
2. Self-righteous, angry reply along lines of - "yes, lets all rejoice that our star player is injured".
3. Comment about silver-linings as teams were less likely to try and buy Suarez now.

I didn't expect the @Modo side-conversation, but that's Modo's genius.
Surprised nobody has yet questioned to authenticity of the source, I mean - "our Luis never gets injured". I expect he'll be in full training within 2 weeks.

He's had the surgery and they reckon he'll be fit for the england match. The guy is a machine.

Hopefully this doesn't go all 'Micheal Owen'.

I can see them rushing him back when not ready.

[article=The Guardian]Paul Dummett has received death threats and menacing messages from Uruguay fans who blame the Newcastle United defender for the knee injury which has placed Luis Suárez’s World Cup hopes in jeopardy.

Suárez is still hoping to play some part in the tournament after undergoing minor knee surgery on Thursday but there remains a possibility that the Liverpool striker will be forced to sit out Brazil 2014.

It is thought that a heavy tackle from Dummett during Liverpool’s final Premier League game of the season – a home win against Newcastle – caused the damage. The Wales left-back was sent off for the challenge, although that red card was rescinded on appeal.

One message read: “Hi Paul Dummett. I hope some day you come here [Uruguay] to have a nice time with friends. We have things for you, like a bullet in the head.”

Another tweeted: “Hey, Paul Dummett. If Suárez doesn’t play against England, you’ll never play again.”

All in all it was quite a day for Dummett, who also received a call-up to Chris Coleman’s Wales squad to face Louis van Gaal’s Holland in a friendly in Amsterdam on 4 June.[/article]

Former England striker Emile Heskey, 36, now playing in Australia with Newcastle Jets says it will take a "miracle" for Suarez to be fit for the World Cup because he has had similar keyhole surgery to the Uruguay forward and says it takes four to six weeks to fully recover.

Sorry Luis but fuck Uruguay, you've done enough in the past. Olympics, Confederations cup, it's time for a summer off.

He is a machine though and he loves playing football, I just hope they (Uruguay) have the sense to say no if he's not right or ready. They probably won't though.
