For his (potential) goals, (apparent) friendship with Torres (or at least, having the same agent) and his price tag + profile as FSG's 1st signing, esp. in Jan transfer window, its a really positive and massive one in its own right. Let this be the 1st of many, pls!

It also says "up to £26mil" so probably not all of it up front and probably depending on a number of things etc.

Up to €26.5m, so starting fee must be lower. Then wanted €35m, so we've done exactly as we should have done in starting so low.

Subject to medical and agreeing personal terms

Liverpool Football Club announced this afternoon that they had agreed a fee of up to 26.5million Euros with Ajax for the transfer of Luis Suarez, subject to the completion of a medical.
The Club have now been given permission by Ajax to discuss personal terms with the player and his representatives.
Subject to medical and agreeing personal terms
Are we back to 99%?
