Suarez:' I want to play in all the games I can for Liverpool. I don't want any rest at all'

The 22.5 million hitman is not worried thy his opponents now know all about him. 'when a defender studies you , it almost makes it easier because you don't do what he expects you to.. If he thinks youre going to o to your right, you go to your left and so on.'

'Kenny is the one who signed the players, but those players have the same ambition. I low that after winning the copa, I want to win things with Liverpool.

Nobody here has any airs of being any better than anybody else. They come with the idea of playing and making the team, the squad and the club better'

All the lads that have signed in 2011 seem to be absolutely buzzing- the whole team is , I can't believe what a difference 12 months can make to a football club.

It's pretty apparent Suarez wants to play every minute of every game judging by how pissed off he looked when he was subbed.
Right now it's Suarez + 10. one man team

Only messing 😉

In future years the period spanning (a) the replacement of Statler and Waldorf and, particularly, (b) the return of the King may well come to be seen as the most important one in our post-Shankly history.

I know you are too much of a Gent, to take credit for madly backing Kenny when everyone was questioning his creed as a manager after having been out for a decade, but i'm not......i'll gloat..

It's mad to think somepeople didn't want him to manage! It's even worse when you think that Purslow blatantly ignored Kenny's assertion that he is the best man for the job.

I wanted kenny as well* as did bren.

to be fair I would have taken ANY manager over hodge podge.

Kenny has raised us from the dead. What he has done is nothing short of miraculous.

The new players are hungry and want to play for Liverpool and want to win. That's the mentality required.

Tie Suarez down on an improved contract. I don't like the idea that Pep Guardiola's brother is Suarez's agent or that Real are sniffing around. Put those crazy Spanish lock up amounts in the contract to deter the other clubs.

It was allways King K for me... even before he signe the new contract many people were reluctant and talked about Jose and Andre....

Hmmmmm.

I think I am going to have to go and do some research to see who was looking for Kenny to be installed as manager last summer.

There seems to be a lot more posters claiming that position now than there was back then.

I was more than apprehensive, don't mind admitting.

I was wrong, & fucking glad I was too. TBH though, anyone who was needn't be ashamed, there werent many from any walk of life that thought he'd be the man for the job again.

there were a lot of people (including myself) that figured if the club is going to change hands then the perfect caretaker was kenny;

* he knows the club
* players respect him
* wouldn't require a huge pay off if the new owners didn't fancy him

us going for hodge podge and giving him a long contract BEFORE new owners were secured was beyond idiotic and shit loads of people said it at the time.

Yeah I could see the logic in Roy, I think many of us could. I don't think many particularly wanted him, he certainly wouldn't have been many peoples first choice, but we were in a rocky spell at the time and Rafa had lost his way and overcomplicated things. I think the idea was we'd get back to basics and gain a bit of spirit again. Oh well. We could have given another manager a longer contract, someone with another 5yr plan and then spent the next few years being 'patient' again. Now we're looking good. All's well that ends well.

Wow - hindsight is 20/20 eh? I didn't post in that thread, but I did just vote so up-to-date voting:

Who would you prefer to be the next Liverpool manager?

Kenny Dalglish 77 (82.8%)
Roy Hodgson 16 (17.2%)

The vote isn't that enlightening, as most people didn't want roy, BUT didn't think kenny would be up to the job. I know i wanted rijkaard first and foremost
