Sturridge's attitude

I'm a longtime Sturridge fan but that sulk tonight when he got subbed bugged me.

I understand he might not be happy to be taken off but as a relatively senior squad member he needs to think more about the team, the result and the young player coming on.

Its a minor enough thing but it fucking bugged me tonight

I reckon he wants out.

He's not enough of a team player for klopp, combined with klopp openly questioning his mentality, all makes for a summer departure

I had less of a problem with his sulky face when substituted than with his overall attitude during the game – staying away from physical challenges, finger-pointing, and making dumb decisions when given so much space. Other than the free-kick that hit the bar he didn't show enough quality in these 2 games to convince Klopp he should be playing ahead of Origi/Benteke.

Also, I must say, Firmino is just as subdued playing behind Sturridge as behind Benteke. Not sure whose fault is that, but it's a concern.

Thought it was nothing. Yes, he sulked a bit but so what. No player should be happy to be subbed off after 60 odd minutes in a game like that.
This.

He wasn't happy ....so what, better that than he went off with a smile on his face.

Hated to see that as well but maybe he's just very competitive and hates getting subbed. Didn't Suarez and Torres get all sulky as well when they were subbed?

The guy has been through a lot, and now he's back it's taking a frustrating time to get back to form. I get all of that. But clap the fans when you come off, that failure to do that, for me, is really annoying.
Agreed

You're playing for them. Sturridge often seems to play for himself

I think he has a bitch face. He was just born with it. But he should have applauded the supporters.

His reaction was petulant from my standpoint; but I expect nothing less.

However, great balls from the manager eh? Not that many around that sub (arguably) their best player and then the captain in a match like that

He was cack tonight, is coming back from a long term injury and we needed fresh legs up front. Simple decision to take him off. His reaction just shows he is frustrated he's not back to his best.
Woeful decision making and head down greed didn't help.

I do want a striker who wants to stay on the pitch, but he really shouldn't make it so visibile.

He also owes us. How much have we paid him over the last 18 months and for what?

I'd expect a much better attitude from someone on his wage.

I entirely agree.

Largely because I said the exact same thing (albeit more succinctly) about an hour before you.

He made a sly dig in the post match interview too last week.

Sell him. Only a matter of time before he's crocked again.

There was a point in the first half where the ball went out of play on the near touchline 15 yards into the Utd half and it looked like it had come off Lallana. Varela picked it up and Utds midfield shifted forward to go on the offensive. The linesman correctly overruled and flagged as our throw. At this point Lallana quickly picked up the ball and spotted a chance to take a quick throw and expose an unprotected back 4. Sturridge the only attacking player within throwing distance, having not paid any attention to what was going on around him, decided to take this opportunity to retie his laces.

He was shite tonight and im a big fan.

It's not the first time he's shown signs of that lately. He strikes me as a bit of a tit who believes he's god's gift to the club. He's not a Klopp player.

I'm also of the opinion that he's not happy and wouldn't be at all surprised if he gets a move in the summer.

He never looks "happy" though. Should have applauded the away fans but the rest isnt worth any more thought. I havent seen it mentioned anywhere else either apart from on here by the Irish Louis Litt.
