is his career here over ?

There's the strong argument that he doesn't even suit the klopp brand of football , he can't stay fit for than a dozen games at any one time , he will also have to get past origi who is showing some decent form .

do we actually need him anymore ? The idea of selling him 12 months ago plus would've been crazy talk but it just doesn't seem to Be working out.

how much can we get for him, £20m? Would anyone actually pay anymore than that for a crock on £125k pw despite the possibility of a 1 in 2 striker,if fit ?

it will mean he's been sold by Chelsea , city and ourselves and in each instance its not been a case of him being cherry picked for bigger and better things, more so the selling club didn't fancy him?

In todays market he is easily worth £40m and £60m to the Chinese

He's a 60 million striker when fit.
At the moment we'd probably only get 30 max.
I think he's very capable of having a few injury free scoring seasons like Van Persie but I doubt the club will have the patience to wait for that.
And I don't blame them as it's getting ridiculous now.

He doesn't fit our team, I fear that this summer was our chance to sell. Another season riddled with injuries will not have helped us at all. I hope if we sell that it is to a team abroad as I would hate to see him fit and banging them in for a rival..

Major disappointment to me, especially being out when he's needed the most. Of course he doesn't exactly control when he's injured but it's still pretty disappointing.

30 mate? He's injured constantly ... I'd be amazed if we got 15-20 because of that alone (not the talent) ...

The likes of West Ham and other small time wannabees would pay near enough to 30 million in the crazy market that exists these days.

would the likes of west ham pay his wages ?

the risk / reward for Sturridge is massive

I've been saying to sell him for 2 years and it's still the best option, his value will only continue to drop.

I'm with dreamy on this. Sell. Even though - when fit - he is a very talented player, its not even clear any more that he makes us a better team.

In a way things have gone well this year - we're not reliant on Sturridge any more. He's now a nice luxury we can bring in during the season.

I don't think we'd get any offers worth considering.

Yeah sell him and be a point or two off the top with a few games to play and every other cunt injured or suspended. Boss idea.
Yeh that's true, but if his continued inclusion in the squad is - in any way - preventing the inclusion of another, as-yet-unidentified, boss striker, then you can just as easily argue that he could very well be the reason that we are behind and not the team being chased.

Certainly not from other Prem clubs, and I wouldn't even consider selling him to one of them for the kind of fee they'd be prepared to pay.

I'd now sell him abroad though if the price was right. Are you listening, China?

Yeah, the idea that we won't have injuries, suspension or, more likely, a loss of form and goals from our already thin selection of strikers, is ridiculous

Yeah, Origi has scored 5 in 5. Any bellend that thinks he can keep that up were probably in the same group of bellends who went fucking totally spastic when I suggested that Firmino wasn't a reliable or natural goalscoring striker

Every goal that went in was followed by a squawking cacophony of furious I told you so posts. He's been involved in more goals in this calendar year than fucking Messi, or whatever.

But no more goals went in

Dec 18th and he has scored a total of 5 Premiership goals. On course to score 10 again.

So the idea that we should sell Sturridge, or won't need him is as ridiculous as suggesting our defence isnt shit, or that we dont have a goalkeeping problem, just because we managed to keep a clean sheet in our last game.

We have lost Ings to injury, our best goalscorer and arguably most important player is off to the Um Bongo Cup.

We need to buy another attacker, as well as keeping Sturridge

He could be vital

I'd never even consider selling him.

He's still Liverpool's main man.

But he needs to get to full fitness before he can make his way back in the side.

He's still managed 4 goals and 2 assists in <500 minutes of football.

is he the main man? I don't think so.

Definitely, fans know this already...they're just quick to say sell him because we're playing just fine without him...but fans forget his influence on games.

He's 1 of few match winners in this side, he's our most prolific goal scorer at the club.

We may not rely on him as such but he's still the main man in terms of individual brilliance.
