That was special.. Real special.. Probably his best goal in a red shirt

Think he has done enough to warrant a starting place.. He is scoring goals, looking sharp and growing in confidence game by game..

Who goes, what system do we play?

Salah obviously. Hes shit at the minute

I'd agree but how do we play to accommodate him..

To get Sturridge in the front three I think you have to drop two players and bring in Shaqiri..

Frim play deeper in midfield with shaqiri on the wing

This is only a question for when the front 3 aren't playing well.

Do we keep playing them and hope they sort it out? I don't think Sturridge can ever be more than an irregular starter for us, we know his body can't do it.

Nobody ever doubted his talent and finishing ability, but I'm not sure he can run about for 90 minutes in this team.

This does not change anything. The front three will come good, and if studrridge did play instead he would be fucked after 2 full games.

Probably not, but if he can run for 60 minutes there is still a case for him to start. If we got an early goal in this game, we could have well won.

Sturridge is showing the value of his type of attacker though. Our front three - and how we play really - is based on perpetual motion.

When players are not at their best, and passes/ flicks aren't quite accurate enough, or played too slow, it makes everything fall apart and we look scrappy and sloppy and frenetic.

Sturridge's goal came about because he wasn't charging forward. He was almost stationary, and that meant he could take advantage of that breathing space and take his time to score a beautiful goal.

They said drogba was shite/plan B but came a prem sensation, Our Studge will rise again.. Hic

I don't think Sturridge should be starting ahead of Firmino, but I do think we should start him against Napoli midweek, as well as Shaqiri, both as a reward for their performances so far, but also to rest two of our front three before the City game.

Nah. That's the least he can do after picking up 150k a week to sit on his arse in the VIP lounge the last three seasons.
So true.
He should do much more to erase those last 3 plus seasons.
Winning both Chelsea games for us could be nice for a start. He's merely saved us a point... [emoji6][emoji6][emoji6]

We would probably scored anyway on til og that....

I think his Europa League final goal was his best. This was epic though - he's been honing in his long range this season, getting closer each time. I still don't think i'd start him in a big game but I can see the case for rotating more than I was previously.

I think a super sub role is probably best for the team.

The goal was absolutely stunning
