Where does Götze slot in?
You have to be wary of the fitness of Sturridge, but I'm honestly very comfortable with Origi (and Ings) as his back up, he was showing so fantastic form and scoring before his injury, I can see him pushing on even further next season. My big worry with getting a shit hot striker is that there's no point in having him when Sturridge is fit, it would feel a bit like an over cautious almost luxury signing, I think that money would be much better spent at left back or in central midfield.I see what you're saying but I'm not totally convinced. The Studge will always be a fitness doubt and none of the others is a proven regular goalscorer yet.
Where does Götze slot in?
I doubt that Sturridge will stay. Klopp don't like players that don't put the team first. I hope that if he stays that Klopp tells him that it is allowed to pass the ball.
When Sturridge get the ball close to the attacking box then you know that he will almost always try to finish himself instead of passing the ball to a better placed player.
With both Firmino and Mane more than capable of playing there too. We have no need for a new striker do we?
Don't forget Mario.
Something you're not.That's funny
You talk some shite.
Something you're not.
Something you're not.
So, who will be our first choice striker this season? IMO it will be Origi or if we sign a new top class striker. We only play with one striker so will Sturridge be happy to sit on the bench and act as a backup to Origi?
I can't see Sturridge being first choice and I can't see him being happy to act as a backup. If he is benched then the media will almost every day say how unhappy he is. Klopp would be forced to answer questions about it every fucking interview. If Sturridge isn't first choice then it is better to sell him than keeping him.
We don't play that many games this season and that means that the backup striker may only play in 10-15 games and that includes cup games if the first choice striker stays fit. It would be different if we played in the CL or EL but because we don't it will difficult to keep benched players happy.
How many players will we use in the PL this season? Probably not more than 20 if we don't get a lot of injuries. Many players will probably play in almost every league game if fit. The first choice striker being one of them.
There's no fucking way on earth he comes to a club that isn't in the champions league. Which thankfully rules out Utd too.I doubt that money would be a problem if Suarez is available even if he would cost around £80m. It would be a win win situation for FSG. How much more would the club be worth if we signed a player like Suarez? The value of the club would IMO increase with more than £80m.
IMO FSG is prepered to spend mega big money on the right player. The problem is to convince the player to join us, not money.
Firmino did for a month or two last season scoring a goal every other game?Yes, because Firmino and Mane can't play as the main striker, and apart from Sturridge, we have nobody who is going to score more than 10 Premiership goals in a season with any kind of reliability
Origi isn't a very good finisher and Ings has played about 5 games.
I get where you're coming from, but with Sturridge up front we don't really need a better striker, realistically there's no way we can improve on him anyway, so it seems like a redundant purchase. For example (and I know this would never happen but proving my point) I'd much rather we'd sign Pogba than Higuian, it just seems like an unnecessary extravagance to sign a top striker when we already have one in Sturridge, backed by a very good and versatile set up strikers behind him. The position is the strongest in the team for me, and the only position where we genuinely have a top top player, central midfield, left back are much much more important.I dont mean to shit on the OP.
But its the exact kind of mentality that sees us fighting for 6th.
We need BETTER players.
