According to the BBC website Stoke have offered £5m. I say we take it, we have plenty on central midfielders, with a number of them higher up in the pecking order. We don't need him and he hasn't really done or shown anything that makes me say we should keep him.

He'll do well for Stoke.

They love a long raking ball out to a winger. Plus, they've got absolutely no one who can actually get a ball down and play, and it's not like Charlie can to be honest, but with them he will shine like a fucking star.

Who was that big white version of Sissoko they had in the middle vs Arsenal? Hes never been a footballer.
And back on topic. Good luck to Adam, hes given his best despite his obvious limitations.

this is really good news, but the way you say "i say we take it" suggests we need to think about it. i dont think there is anything to think about we should just accept. just the mention of the guy will make people on here hungry and cause a health scare so for the sake of the team and fans we need him out.

ryan - i think he will go as its closer to scotland than what fullham would have been.

I know I'll regret asking this, but why do you think proximity to Scotland is such an overriding criterion moron?

Whitey - I think that's their yank, Cameron

That'll be him. Was funny to see the difference between him and Cazorla. Cazorla all majestic, finding space, knitting moves together and playing with a real swagger up against this big brute who just ran around snapping at heels, wellying the ball behind the opposing fullbacks every time he got it.

There were a number of conversations on the radio (both Talksport, and Five 5), and reports in London newspapers that he did not want to come down south. I usually associate the need for a specific location when it comes to players from the continent, but I think in the case of Adam being in Scottish national team, its easier for him to travel to Scotland for home games if he is playing his football up north of England.

I was a bit surprised to hear the above as I never thought it mattered too much for a British player, but in the same conversations someone mentioned that Alex Ferguson before taking the United job was actually preparing for the role of potentially managing Spurs, but then Manchester United called up and he picked them at the time not because of their history but because at the time he thought it was more convenient to be near his homeland of Scotland. Strange but true according to the reporter.

Even today in aLondon paper there was talk of Berbatov staying in England despite having better offers from abroad (in terms of wages), mainly because his family are now settled in England. So sometimes money does not seem to be the most important thing for these highly paid players.

After completing the deal for the player, manager Tony Pulis praised his appetite: 'He ate four cheeseburgers, two deep-fried Mars bars, three bags of chips and an extra-large pizza, and still had room for cake!'

Joking aside, he didn't do a lot wrong here. He never proved himself to be good enough, but his attitude to the club, if not his physique, was faultless. If we had hired a different manager he could have been a useful squad player, but he's not mobile enough to be in Rodgers plans.

I like him and hope he does well for Stoke.

Do you know you can get sugar-free Irn-bru? So so wrong
That's blasphemy in some parts of Scotland.
On a stag do in Edinburgh about 5 years ago I seen a lad ordered a Sugar free Irn Bru and Vodka.
The barman replied with"Up ou a da ya poof ya"

Bang on.

Ian Holloway's column:

I feel for Charlie Adam that his big move to Liverpool hasn’t worked out.

He played a crucial role for me in helping take Blackpool into the Premier League – and very nearly keeping us there – and I can only wish good things for him.

It’s a hazard of the modern game for a player that you can sign for one manager, but if the next one doesn’t want you in his system you don’t get much chance.

Sometimes things in your career are just not in your control and, when that happens, you must deal with it and be strong-minded enough to get things moving for yourself again.

I’ve got to be honest, I haven’t seen Charlie hitting the sort of magnificent, raking passes he played for us while he’s been at Anfield.

I still remember one game at West Brom when he made possibly the best diagonal pass I’ve ever seen in my life.

Maybe he lost a bit of confidence. The last time I saw Charlie was when he came to see last season’s play-off final.

We were with Paul Ince, who told him he should have gone to Liverpool and walked in the door like he owned the place.

If you don’t have that massive confidence at a big club, it can be really hard to flourish.

I hope that Tony Pulis gets into his head and makes him believe in himself again, like I was able to.

If so, we’ll see him hitting the top of his game again.

so it's seems nearly all of Dalglish's signings suffered from a lack of confidence and the pressures of being at a top club with high expectations . Ok , we all had reservations about the quality of these signings and if their best was good enough but i think it's fair to say that none even produced close to that best .

When you sign a "good" player from a so called lower team there is always the concern if they can hack being at a big team but you hope they can and even improve their abilities and form when surrounded by better players . I won't lie , this is one of the aspects of Dalglish's reign which disappoints me the most . We , and he, weren't able to get these lads to even produce close their best or to improve at all . They all suffered confidence issues and we weren't able to help them in any way with that . I guess they may never have had the bottle or ability to start with , it was a losing battle from the first day, but that again proves they should never have been signed in the first place .

anyway .

Yeah, cos walking in like you owned the place worked out well for you, eh Ince. Tit.

Shame, cos I talked to Ince after he'd retired & he was a really nice bloke, not arrogant at all & spoke well about our city (met him in town), but at Liverpool he was an arrogant bellend. Had I been this age I'd have asked him why but I was too young at the time to talk honestly to a footy player I'd just met.

Had a good game from what I saw yesterday, was desperately unlucky with a freekick too.

Good luck Charlie, always a top player, just shame a few other things didn't work out for you.
