I wouldn't claim to be able to judge how good or poor a coach he'd be. Even in these more media-intensive days we just don't know enough about that aspect of them. You can get a really quiet player with limited talent who turns into a very impressive coach or manager, and a Gobby Neville type who under-performs spectacularly.
Off the pitch, Gerrard reminds me of a Bobby Charlton-style worryguts figure, which wouldn't fit snugly in Klopp's backroom staff. Then again, there are enough stories about how great he's been with new and young players behind the scenes to suggest he might confound my kind of sceptical expectations. I certainly do know that the academy/reserve set-up is desperately in need of a more competitive attitude, so if Gerrard is committed enough his presence could be really good if he was allowed to really get at the players and instil some much needed passion and hatred of defeats.
As for playing, god help us, no.
