Steven Gerrard & Rangers

Hibs gonna win the SPL at his rate.

How the fuck do you not beat Motherwell at home and how the fuck do you lose to Livingston.

I actually watched that video you posted of the Neville interview.

He wants to manage again and is free.

He can’t do any worse than Ange is doing or Lennon did, and he’d at least might attract decent players and command the respect of players there - in much the same way Gerrard has at Rangers.

Ange is out of his depth there.. he’d have been better cutting his teeth at a mid-table Championship side that would give him time and space to develop.
I don’t think he’s expectations on professionalism would gel there. I it’s silly to judge Ange this early. Win yesterday and Celtic are second.

We’ve done this before Dreamie... It’s Celtic... 2nd is practically is close to failure - he’ll finish at least second regardless - that’s not good enough.

Ange is a shit house, sacked by Christmas.

6 losses already, Sheeeeeesh. It took Stevie like 70 games before he lost that many.

Lost to Livingston, lost to Betis, lost to Rangers, lost to AZ, lost to Hearts, lost to Midgetlland.

Other than Rangers, all crap teams.

Celtic will win most of their games at home, as you’d expect, but those away losses are a worry.

Well, not for me... my shit Scottish team is in 3rd.

That's the level in Scotland and people want Stevie to come and take over after Klopp.

I've no opinion on the desirability of Stevie becoming Liverpool Manager in the future but if you want to get relatively easy competition whilst being exposed to European competition then the top teams in Portugal, Scotland or Belgium are the places to go. Frank Lampard chose Derby -> Chelsea which was way too much of a jump

Yeah, I think he was too inexperienced. He should have stayed in Derby and tried to get them promoted. Help build the club up. Fucking xenophobic journos talking about giving English managers a chance in top teams. It's not like Klopp, Mourinho etc went from managing 2nd tier teams in their country and straight to the prem.
Look at what Potter is doing in Brighton. I already knew after he left Sweden that he'd be a success.
West Brom must really be regretting that they didn't give him the job, being a Brummy and all

While I agree with quite a lot of this, it's got bugger all to do with xenophobia. It isn't necessary to be xenophobic to wish that more home-grown managers were getting to the top of English football.

I disagree. For instance, pundit and journos are quick to want foreign managers sacked, but when it's an English mangers, like Lampard, no one in the media was talking about him deserving to be sacked. They just keep repeating the same mantra "he needs time" and so on.
I'm not against English managers managing top teams, they should be, I mean it's in England FFS. But it has to be on merit and Potter is on the road to prove himself even further.

That first paragraph is hopelessly exaggerated - you're inflating something which happens sometimes (and is by no means confined to English managers) into an allegedly universal practice, which is just garbage. As far as Lampard specifically is concerned, there were plenty of questions asked about him as his time at Chavski came to an end. Those lobbying for him to be given more time were predominantly his fellow professionals.

Rangers are struggling this season, just about doing enough in the league but they look set of getting knocked out Europe.

He was written off way too early by many people. He's a good manager, Celtic are in a poor state and it will take him at least a season to build anything there. Whether Gerrard will still be there by that time is another matter
