Sterling interest rate raised

Can't Capel play left back, or am I confused with the plethora of other players we were linked with over the Summer?

There's a shitload of reasons why he hasn't pushed on, he's still really young and has had alot of expectation thrown at him early, he's also been a bit of a dickhead and hasn't done himself any favours.

I meant that as a joke, but I guess you're offended now for some reason.

I think he meant it's far from the (only) reason, it didn't sound like a joke to be fair, I didn't think it was that an offensive observation, it's part of it, he's only young though.

It was a reference to the debates we had about his size, before he broke through.

He does need regularly game time but we're pretty light in terms of numbers in attacking positions so we need to be careful.

We've already sent Suso and Borini out on loan and whilst it'll hopefully prove beneficial to them and us long-term we could still have done with them being in the squad for this season.

Yes, but as is, he doesn't offer us much so I think a loan move would do him some good. Same could be said about Flanno and others

It wasn't too long ago that Sterling put in a decent shift in the RWB role for us. He is only 18 and it's not as if his progression has suddenly stopped. I'd loan to a non London club and allow him play week in week out. If we go back to 4 at the back I can see him potentially getting more game time but it still mightn't be enough minutes to aid his development as much as we'd like it to.

We need to start advantage of loaning players out. Finding the right club for Raheem might be tricky but im sure Rogers will only allow it if it's a good fit for us and Sterling.

I'd like him to go out to a bottom half premier league, or top 4 championship, and get loads of game time. He's got nothing but raw pace at the moment, he's got a lot to work on.

Very hard to comment on something that has a feel of a personality driven issue. I can empathize with similar scenarios where temporarily demoting a colleague has provided the required input to get them pointing their desire/energy in the right direction but equally I can see why this could be the wrong thing, taking Raheem away from the people tasked to support him develop.

On the surface I'd say I'd rather Sterling was on the bench providing quality support to our team than him being elsewhere.

[article=http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-set-raheem-sterling-transfer-2715079#ixzz2kDYLIe4f ]Swansea want to sign Raheem Sterling on loan, writes Dean Jones in the Sunday People.

They are attempting to utilise their relationship with Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers, a former gaffer at the Liberty Stadium, with the promise of regular games to aid his development.

Sterling is keen on the move as it would boost his chances of making it to the World Cup with England - particularly as the Anfield giants are aiming to make more signings in January.

The Swans' style is seen as the ideal place for Sterling to enhance his football education, and the clubs are set to discuss a loan deal soon.[/article]

Could get a couple of Europa League games should they progress, too.

he's not likely to start ahead of Routledge, Dyer and that weird looking Spanish guy is he though

Anyone who followed him during his time in the U18s and the reserves and didn't think he was gonna become something special is fucking mad. The kid was sick but it just hasn't worked for him with big boys. Could be his size...
Anyway, I always thought Suso was ahead of him in pretty much every department.
"Mad"? Do you not think that they could just be a better judge of footballing talent than you?

[article=http://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/Liverpool-England-starlet-Raheem-Sterling-linked/story-20059248-detail/story.html#ixzz2kLSthr3J]LIVERPOOL'S Raheem Sterling could go out on loan and some reports are linking him with a move to Derby County.

Other reports have the 18-year-old winger heading to Swansea City.

England international Sterling has made nine appearances for Liverpool this season and he was an unused substitute in their 4-0 victory over Fulham at Anfield on Saturday.

Derby already have a Liverpool player on loan in Andre Wisdom.

Liverpool's reported interest in signing Rams midfielder Will Hughes in January means any possible deals between the two clubs are billed as potential new twists in the Hughes transfer saga.

Rams chief executive Sam Rush recently dismissed any link between Wisdom joining Derby and Hughes heading to Liverpool as pure speculation.[/article]
