Standard and Chartered accused of helping to fund Terrorists

Cant really say this is something I'm concerned by or going to spend a lot of time reading about.
But this will probably get way more publicity than the Newcastle and City owners and all the shit they are funding.

It's because might is right.

It's a good comparison. It's easy for us to criticise Abu Dhabi or Saudi for their human rights records, but Standard Chartered have always been "problematic" as a sponsor for money laundering / arms sales / funding terrorism offences. The difference I think we can draw is that Standard Chartered are not involved in the running / ownership of our club, and we could replace them with someone else if we chose to do so. But it bothers me that we haven't done so, it does still feel a bit grubby, but most front-of-shirt sponsors are paying as much for legitimacy as they are for exposure. Standard Chartered are no different. At least the things they are accused of are peripheral to their main business, rather than their reason to exist.
But I think if I were at the club and vetting SC as an incoming sponsor, I'd be recommending we look elsewhere.

What exactly are they being accused of?

Basically providing services to Iranian banks, Iranian companies and Middle Eastern money exchanges that the USA doesn't like. Not a big deal in my eyes tbh.

One sponsor is accused of aiding Israeli genocide
The other is now accused of aiding Iran / Hamas.

Do these cancel each other out, or at least make us equal opportunity bad guys?

This has rumbled on for years now. It probably isn't worth the hassle of breaking the contract but it would be sensible to move on and distance ourselves from it. There'll be no shortage of offers.
