When a team plays like Southampton are playing today, and they play that system well, as they're doing, then most teams will really struggle against them. That's just a fact. We're not actually playing TOO badly, there's just that trademark lack of imagination. It also doesn't help that Southampton have become one of the most irritatingly niggly teams I've seen for a while - it's as if they've all suddenly been possessed by the spirit of Dennis Wise.
We don't have someone to dribble their way through, so the only option is to speed things up, mentally and physically, and be as cynical as Southampton have been in terms of all the little tricks going on.

Clyne has been poor attacking wise the whole season though, bar an assist here or there ... Milner is worn out it seems.
To be fair, a team with lower quality but that's able to follow instructions, maintain shape, not hold on to the ball too long, and defend with great discipline is not easy to beat. It's worse when it's a team with skilful and quality players like Soton has.
It's kinda' disappointing though to see Southampton play football like this. They used to be better and willing to come up and have a game.
