As being not capped enough (27 caps) but what other players have there been that should have been capped a lot more than they were?
I notice Steve Heighway only has 34 caps for Ireland and Alan Hansen only had 26 caps for Scotland as we know.
For others I think Steve Bruce was uncapped for England.

I thought the thread was just england caps and wonderman is so good he should be able to play for two countries at the same time.

Ginola got dropped after he was blamed for France's failure to qualify for the 94 world cup, didn't he? He certainly fell out of favour anyway.

I think so yeah, but it didn't stop Beckham from returning to people's good graces after he was blamed for the WC 98 exit.

The difference is that France had a good enough squad to drop him(they won the WC after it), where as England didn't.

Steve Heighway never bothered to turn up for Ireland most of the time hence his lack of caps

Peter Thompson - 16
[/quote]

Dropped from the final squad for two World Cups. Initially he stayed out in Mexico in '70 to help the squad prepare. One day a couple of Brazilian journos came to watch training and were mightily impressed with Thompson. When they were told he wasn't in the final 22 they thought it was kidology at first.

I think Steve Nicol only had a few caps for Scotland too.

It's amazing that as the best team in England, with a lot of Englishmen, so many of our players got overlooked.

But as SG said, fuck 'em.
