It's going to be the Mancs, and Jules is spot on.
The talk of 'a different generation' is going to seem a little hollow when the record is broken, count on it.

I live in Manchester and it's not going to make any difference to me. They've been winning the title year in, year out and our retort of "we're still more successful" is lame and everyone knows it.
The first challenge we have is to start winning again. Only then can we start worrying about the significance of records.

That's not really the issue,keni.
Yours and Squiggs posts suggest that the record shuldnt have significance to us because it's in the past and bears no relation to our current situation; and I don't see it that way.. for 20 years we've been mere shadows of who we used to be, and the loss of that record should matter because it's the final nail in the coffin.
We will no longer be the most successful club, and it's going to hurt.
But that final coup de grace should be the impetus that galvanizes us; no longer a crutch that defines who we are,but as a marker that will define who we will be (hopefully).
That's why it matters.
Anyway, I'm rambling..my hunch is that your view is shared by many, but that it's just sheer bravado for the lot of you.
It's going to hurt, but I think that's why it's going to be a good thing..and why it's a good place for us to start from.

Agree except for one thing, which bears pointing out in view of the torrent of gloating due to come in our direction from over Manchester way - while they'll be the most successful club in the domestic league (for the moment,) we'll still have two European Cups on them.
