It's not that black and white though. He's a world cup winning lynchpin of the Italian side who doesn't rely on box-to-box runs. He'd set the tempo of the team whilst letting Masher run his arse off.

I dont think we need another cb. If we buy f ex Distin, he wont even make the bench in most games. If God forbid 2 centrebacks get injured, step up Kelly. If not Johnson could cover for 1 or 2 games.
I think theres absolutly no chance we'd get De Rossi. If hes availeble, it would be at 40+ mill.
