Not really alot else, I'm tempted to not play Benteke but there's a case for having a physical outlet. Ibe is a must as we need legs on the break, I'd have Teixeira in there too personally.

With Henderson out probably at least a month then IMO it would be stupid to risk Milner, Can or Lucas. Until Henderson is back they should only play the league games. I wouldn't risk any player that will start the next league game.

Who do we play though? We haven't got any other fit, experienced midfielders. You can't go to Bordeaux playing Rossiter and Teixeira (as interesting as that would be).

Teixeira is not in the Europa League squad. He did fairly well in one half of a match in preseason and a reserves match against the Mancs, but hasn't had a look it. I'm puzzled why we haven't shipped him out. I'm doubt Rodgers is prepared to use him in the League, so his most realistic opportunities will come in the League Cup. There's also the FA Cup, but if we're out of reckoning for the other competitions by the time it starts, then Rodgers might well deem that his last chance for redemption and use the seniors.

I think the boy will have a decent career though, just not with us.

I'm a fan of the boy though.

I didn't realise, that scraps that plan then. We really are short on midfield options - so it's basically Milner, Can or Lucas for two of the midfield spots, with Firmino or Coutinho taking the advanced role.

Rossiter has never lets down when he's come on (or in his 1-2 starts) so I would have no hesitation starting him. Seems a very well adjusted youngster with a great attitude and good skill set. Most people probably wouldn't start him but at worst I'd like to see him get 30 mins or so.

We have a large squad and need to use some of those not playing regularly in the 1st team or even on the bench, in the EL, LC and FAC.

--------------------Mignolet------------------

Clyne-----Skrtel-----Sakho----Moreno

---------Rossiter --------- Can------------
......... (or Milner)

Ibe ----------------Firmino ---------- Origi

---------------------Ings--------------------

Subs (seems Lallana and Allen not ready to return yet).
Bogdan, Toure, Lucas, Milner, Coutinho, Sturridge, Benteke

The plan was to use most of the squad for these games:

Ming

Clyne Toure Sakho Moreno
Lucas Milner
Ibe Coutinho Origi
Ings

Going against my hatred of keeper changes for cups, I'd tell Ming to go and work on his game after that brain dead performance against the mancs. Bogdan may as well have a go. If Kent - wow, a wide player with blistering pace, that's a luxury! - hadn't been sent off on loan I would have used him in however few Europa games we actually play. Origi should get some minutes, but he needs to be told that he's there to serve the team, not use it as a glorified practice match for his perrsonal development - if he's ineffective, he needs to know he'll be hooked, and deservedly so. It's tempting to give Milner a breather because he's the one player who really works for 90 minutes.

The problem is where to play Origi. Last season he was poor for Lille in Ligue 1 and one of the reasons most often given for that was that Lille played him on the left instead of through the middle. Trouble is that on the left we don't have anyone really suited to the job (except maybe Milner, whom we bought on a promise that we wouldn't stick him out there). As long as we have to experiment I'd consider trying Moreno in that position.

--------------- Bogdan
Clyne -- Skrtel -- Sakho -- Moreno
---------- Lucas -- Can
------------- Coutinho
-- Ibe ------ Benteke ----- Origi

Ings deserves a game up front, I'd go for something similar to your team Keniget but I'd leave Coutinho and Benteke out.

Firmino looks like he'd benefit from more time on the pitch at the moment..

If Lallana was fit (is he ever fit?) I'd consider giving him a go as well

I'm caught between wanting to name a more 'alternative' side and thinking the team just needs to win a game to restore confidence.

How long is Coutinho's ban for? If he can play at the weekend then yeah, maybe let Firmino have a go in his stead.

As others have said, I'm not bothered too much who plays and whether we win or lose, I just want to see us going out with a coherent game plan that makes sense for the squad that we currently have.

if Ings, Origi and Ibe don't start this game, it is further proof the manager has completely lost the plot. would drop the keeper too and threaten him with being benched like he was last season unless he shapes up and stops becoming brain dead when the ball is in his possesion.

I'd play Ings up front anyway. He deserves a game. Give Moreno a start as well for Gomez.

We should be looking forward to seeing Lazar excel in games like this. SAD FACE.

I've fallen into the I'm not bothered until Rodgers goes mood, similar to the one I was in towards the end of Hodgson, Rafa and Ged

In an odd way I'd take more heart from a good performance than a win. Obviously I want us to win games, but at the moment I don't see where the improvement is going to come from - I don't see what Rodgers is trying to do, and I don't see how we're supposed to be playing. In his first six months when we weren't getting results I could at least see what he was trying to do. It'd be nice to feel as if there was some sort of coherent plan behind how we're playing. If that comes at the price of a few results in the UEFA cup then so be it.

I also hope Sakho, Rossiter, Ibe, Ings and Origi all play.

Daniel Sturridge, Adam Lallana and Joe Allen are all back in full training after injury but are still building up their fitness levels. Sturridge is not expected to travel to France.

Look at the bright side. It can't possibly get much worse on the pitch. We can only improve from here.

I think Gomez was a huge mistake and has cost us.
I think not having the balls to play Ings next to Benteke is a huge mistake. Also in terms of preparing the team for Sturridges comeback.
I think Can is all over the place with Lucas and Milner. Huge mistake with no or little direction.
Clearly he wants Skertel/Lovren to play football when we are in possession?!

There is too many things in motion to get anything right. BR needs to slow down and get back to the fundamentals. Find a formation and stick with it. Maybe even have a plan?!

He is farting in the elevator and it's wrong on so many levels.
