Caulker will deffo start, and I would not play Randall; he was terrible. Otherwise, yeah, pretty much.

Ward
Randall Toure Ilori Smith

Allen Lucas Teixeira

Ibe Benteke Ojo

I'd start Toure if Lovren is back for the Norwich game. If not, I'm not sure who I'd start.

We need to do all we can to win the league cup, because that would at least give Klopp his first trophy, guarantee Europe for next year and allow him to concentrate more on coaching his methods for the rest of the season. But we're also not in a position to dismiss the FA Cup, and I'd like to see as many fit senior players as possible for the first half to kill the game off.

Ibe isn't really fully fit and needs to protect that hamstring, and Lucas is probably fatigued after Sunday. Kolo may as well play to provide some experience. Allen should come in, maybe as captain. It won't hurt either Milner or Lallana to play 45 minutes, and the young attacking players need someone around to talk them through at least part of the game. Having said that, I'd rather give Ojo a go from the start than let Benteke lumber around like he did last time.

I'm actually fairly concerned about meeting Everton, because they're pretty much like us at the minute, conceding left right and centre but they look more capable of scoring, particularly with the form of Lukaku.

Hopefully Aguero is coming back at the right time to fuck them over at the Etihad.

FLANNOOOOOOOO

Jon Flanagan is in contention to make his long-awaited first-team return in Liverpool's FA Cup third round replay with Exeter City at Anfield on Wednesday night.
The tough-tackling full-back, who has been sidelined by a knee injury for nearly two years, has been building up his match fitness with the club's under-21s since returning to full training last month.
After coming through three run-outs for Michael Beale's side unscathed, Flanagan will now come into consideration for a first run-out under Jurgen Klopp.
It would be the 23-year-old's first competitive appearance for Liverpool since the visit of Newcastle on the final day of the 2013/14 season.

Jon Flanagan

At that time Flanagan's outstanding form led to an England debut against Ecuador and he was on the standby list for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
However, in the following pre-season he was hampered by fluid on his left knee during the tour of America.
The popular Academy graduate then underwent surgery in September 2014 and another operation followed in April 2015 to repair cartilage in the joint.
However, his long rehabilitation programme is now complete and his return is a major bonus for Klopp.
Flanagan is out of contract this summer but is determined to prove over the coming months that he merits a new deal with his boyhood club

I think playing Benteke without Henderson and / or Milner to provide early crosses to him is pretty pointless. I want us to progress to the next round, but also play some U21s - this could be the last outing they'll get this season - the opponents for future rounds will be tougher, so this is their chance to impress. The young guys who did well the first time should get another shot. Flanagan looks like he might be available too - the U21s have a game tonight so we'll have a good idea of who's in or who's out when we see that lineup.

Assuming Caulker isn't eligible, I'd like to see this:

-------------- Mignolet ---------------
Clyne --- Ilori --- Sakho --- Smith
-- Milner - Brannagan -- Allen ---
Ibe --------- Benteke ----- Teixeira

subs: Ward, Toure, Flanagan, Henderson, Kent, Ojo, Firmino

Every time I see Flanno mentioned I immediately go on to Youtube to watch that tackle again.

Actually, there's a few crackers on there, but this one - looks like an U-21s derby - is the best, with Flanagan showing precisely ZERO fucks about the nature of the game, the fact that he's in his own penalty area, or indeed anything other than sending that poor fucker into orbit.

Holy good lord - now THAT is a tackle.

Looking at the other games tonight, it won't be easy so we should be careful to avoid any fuck-ups.

We should be trying to build some confidence, a strong spine with young legs in support should see us through and excite the crowd.

Mignolet

Randall (45) Flanagan (45) ; Toure ; Sakho ; Smith

Lucas ; Allen

Milner ; Teixeira ; Ojo

Benteke

Subs : Bogdan, Ilori, Branagan, Kent, Gomes, Woodburn, (Flanagan)
