Dirty Sanchez

I Moustache You a Question

Doesn't seem to be much of a draw for player recruitment for us eh?
Can we move Liverpool to Spain please.

Whooshing by the DS..

London for Sanchez and 4 quick and nice purchases - Adam Ricky Lazar and Emre might have been oiled and lubricated by our pending entry into the gorgeous brunette with blue eyes, that is the CL. (I can hear the anthem...)

Oh man, midweek joy awaits, I cannot wait. How lucky are we! I forgot what this means for my midweeks!

There is some truth in this, just mentioned in another thread that the majority our targets and transfers so far we could have bought in if were were in the Europa League, we tried and failed (as usual) to get Mkhitaryan, Willian and Costa last summer, this summer barring Sanchez we haven't really set our sights as high, or so it seems at this point.

There are two months left of the transfer window. This thread is premature at best.

Markovic could have gone to Chelsea but didnt. Lallana could have gone to Utd but didnt.

We've lost out on one target Alexis Sanchez. Who became available to us when Suarez decided to fuck off.
The player already had a verbal agreement with Arsenal and his wife wants to live in London, cant see how that can be due to us being in the CL or not.
The fact that the player didnt outright reject us but held talks must have ment we were an interesting option but the player has called this move personal reasons all along.

It doesn't feel like we're setting our sights *that* high but I suppose the situation with Sanchez is what happens when we do.

That said, Markovic may not have agreed to come without CL and the same with Can.

It's probably just a case of the Lallanas.

We don't know for sure who we actually bid on and missed out on bar Sanchez. Having said that, the quality of transfers is distinctly up and comers. Lets see what happens before the window closes before making such broad statements.

But it's like the Fermi paradox.
All these stars seeking champions league football (that would not have come to us otherwise - key distinction). Where are they?
Markovic, Lallana, Can - all would have come to us whether or not we had CL football.
When you throw the CL football carrot out there aren't the big fish supposed to bite? So, where are they?

The buzz from last season and getting CL football has completely gone.

Yes there is some time to go but i don't know how any Liverpool fan can't be having some doubts about it all, since last season ended its gone from expectation and excitement for next season to just hoping that it doesn't go tits up, again.

If Rodgers gets Liverpool top 4 or better next season then take a bow that man, he would have done another fantastic job and cemented himself as one of the best coaches around.

What is it with the Irish and Brits. The window is all of open 11 days and it's all doom and gloom.

Jesus, bring out some rainbows would you girls.

We've had our best season in a long time..

We've a great team, a great manager and some money behind us.

We always bounce back. ALWAYS.

I know, it's pathetic. What's worse, we've known for about 2 weeks that Suarez was going, and about a week that Sanchez would go to Arsenal. It was done and dusted.

Then it's officially announced with pictures and everything and people just fall apart.

Markovic seems fairly hot property..

It's very break-up like. Honestly, I couldn't believe how I felt when Torres left... but now, feck it, we always move on.

Tbh I don't share the pain at all. I just don't. A small part of me panics a little bit when I remind myself just how much he gave us last season, but then I immediately remember that the stupid dickhead had got himself banned from the first two and a half months of the season anyway, so there's really no doubt that it's best for everyone to let him go.

But I don't feel any actual attachment to him at all. Not a thing. I haven't bothered to read his silly goodbye letter. Not because I'm annoyed, just because I genuinely couldn't give a shit.

Dirty Sanchez has a point as do other posters that have concerns, ignore it if you like and keep telling yourselves and everyone who will listen that all these signings are great and its all going to work out, that's up to you, i just prefer to be realistic, honest and not kid myself about these things, how can you not after supporting Liverpool for so long? lol, if anyone has a problem with that then bollocks to you.

Weird, where has anyone even mentioned being disappointed or crying over Suarez in this thread? of course it is a blow but i was over that a week ago, again being realistic that he was gone, the concerns as clearly stated in this thread are what lie ahead.

Same here Peter, there is no point in reading all the Suarez threads, same with his best moment thread, screw that tbh, maybe down the line it might be a good thread to take part in but right now who really gives a shit?

Carry on though with misinterpreting posts and derailing the point of the thread.

Where were the concerns last week? I don't remember anything particularly hysterical.

What I see is Suarez being paraded in a Barca shirt a day after Sanchez is pictured in an Arsenal shirt and lots of people suddenly cracking up. So it's not the complaints themselves, but their timing.

I think we need to be patient, see who we sign, and then see how they look in the early games. And remember that for the first 11 league games any of the players signed with that £75m are basically a bonus, because Suarez wouldn't have been playing anyway. That's the bottom line for me.

Have a lie down you silly tart.

Oh right, that's your attempt to make me look like the silly one and to swerve away from what i have actually said there and in this thread, you could just say fair enough and you got the wrong end of the stick, no worries, i expect a grammar lesson next ; ) ,nice one Pete.

I've had concerns all along even before Suarez went, said consistently that i think we might well end up wasting the opportunity we have this summer on here, then we get linked with and buy players that we could get anyway without CL football and those concerns start becoming reality.

Just giving my opinion, if it upsets the happy clappy brigade then so be it.

Nothing happy clappy about having a little patience and seeing what transpires over the coming weeks

True, and im in the camp of having patience, just have concerns at this point in time at the way it has been going, that's all, take a look at what our direct rivals are doing and compare it to us so far and United haven't even really started yet.

There are some happy clappers, there always is, fair play for being positive like that in a way but most of it is pure blind faith.

Think it's fine having concerns who wouldn't after losing a player like Suarez? Think we also have to be cognisant that not everything is within the clubs control when it comes to transfers. Sanchez going to Arsenal was all about location embarrassingly for him and not much we could do there. I also think Lallana is a cracking signing and will surprise a few next year. Can could be a canny signing, no pun intended and Markovic has potentially enormous potential but of course could be the next Bojan. Lovren would be a good addition if he comes and could be the line leader we've been missing and we haven't given up on Moreno yet. That's just the players we're aware off so hopefully some pleasant surprises to come. We're still a team who play some formidable footy and, whereas you cannot replace a player like Suarez, we can still build a stronger unit overall. I'm looking forward to it.
