Rafa was made fully aware of how much money he had to spend on new contracts players signing on fees etc according to my source so I don't buy that one.
According to your source when was Rafa made fully aware of all of this??
Before he spent a penny in the summer. He was told his budget for contracts and new players. I guess he decided on keeping his better players with long term contracts and thought Lucas could do the job and that Torres would stay fit.

I cringe everytime someone says "my source".
Well If I say someone's name that nobody knows then it won't make much sense.

I have a friend who is very close to a guy that works with Purslow.

Believe me or not I'm not bothered. Just passing on what I have been told.

I wasn't on about whether your "source" was credible or not to be honest. It just sounds very dramatic when people say "my source". As if they're a detective with eyes and ears everywhere. Nothing against you personally, like.

Has "Tony" told you if we have any money to spend in January yet DB?
We have to sell before we can buy. Getting knocked out of the CL have f*cked us.

Don't be surprised to see Masher go in Jan.

Is this what your mate told you?

Sadly even i think rafa is probably a dead man walking, this has been going on all season long now and that just aint right. It is tragic in every way IMO considering every aspect and the soulless vultures who own us. At LFC you have to make a silk purse even when you are given a sows ear and Rafa was shat on this summer, we all were.

I hope we make top four, i think we probably will IF we can play a proper team, but getting any enthusiasm required for a storming run.... for what? ... so we can tread water again?.... he will need to get them playing out of there skins again though and we look like we've been sulking from day one.

Its a tough one.

As for the Rafa out brigade, hope you enjoy Klinsmann.

It's strange how members of the two extreme brigades each seem to think the other is illogical and uninformed while, I imagine, they consider themselves the originators of all things balanced.

If it makes you feel any better Molby there is no way Rafa will be leaving unless he decides to go of his own accord.

I have every confidence that he could easily take us to a 6th CL next season but am almost equally confident he does not know how to get across the line in domestically.

I guess I'm in the middle so as I agree with that.

It will take something massive for him to leave.

However if Real fail to win the league they could be back in for him and he could agree to leave for nothing.

I know Benitez is destined to take charge at Real one day, but is there anyone else who just can't see it?

He doesn't seem suited to them at all.

I think Rafael would shine in Italy.

His comment straight after the Johnson deal completely contradicts your claim - ' we can afford to sign another player without selling anyone'.

Very true but as you know many managers has said one thing while actually do something very different behind the scenes.

I think Rafa knew the press were looking for a reason to come down on him after spending 18m on a right back and to say he had no more money would have gotten him alot of negative press.

I'm guessing your source did a lot of guesswork too and made many assumption.

You think Benitez, the politician he is, said that for the sake of it, knowing full well it was not true and at the same time giving the impression that the owners were backing him adequately??

Not a chance.

I've got a few sources *spits* one of them told me about the Aquilani deal and is now convinced that JAR will be rejoining us in January. Another told me how Benitez was under the impression that all the money negotiated for the Alonso deal would be available to him and that's why negotiations began with Alvaro Negredos representatives as well as Ryan Shawcross' from Stoke, whilst the likes of Upson and Michael Turner were all under consideration. Once Purslow had negotiated the Alonso deal for the full lump sum and made it clear that a 3rd of that would be going to RBS is the time Benitez began to see his arse(according to my source*spits*) it all culminated on the afternoon of the Villa game, apparently, Benitez was prepared to walk but only a subsequent meeting with Purslow and Dalglish persuaded him to stay. Apparently Benitez considers this season as a transitional period(in other words a write off) but there you go, that's according to my source. Both sides to every coin but thankfully my source*spits* is not associated with Purslow, the RBS man working in collaboration with the yanks, the same man who has guaranteed Benitez will be here this time next year.........oh it makes you wonder why.

Right, so you're prepared to believe the word of a so-called source, but will ignore actual quotes from the Manager as they contradict "what you've heard"?

Right.

I'd be prepared to ignore quotes from Benitez as he has shown plenty of times that he lies, or at least obfuscates the truth when he feels like it

We did have enough money for another player without selling.... Kyrgiakos.

Transitional my arse its fucking depressing is what it is.
