4 million would not get you sniff of a left back, and as he would be a back up option, I don't see where it could be better spent for that position.

I'm pretty sure we could get a better fullback in that price bracket.
Arbeloa was bought for around 2.5M, Utd got Evra for 5.5M, Newcastle got Debuchy for a similar fee, Leverkusen got Carvajal for 4M off Real (though with a buyback clause) and so forth. Those are decent fullbacks that have gone for reasonable sums and we haven't had to name shit ones who would still be better than Cissokho.
Even if we did struggle to get someone on the cheap, we'd be better off putting that 4M towards a decent player rather than buying someone just because he's cheap.
Napoli bought Ghoulam for 6 million euros. That's also quite cheap.
I've suggested Kurzawa in this thread. Germany also has some good young full-backs like Rodriguez, Sakai and Oczipka. None of them would would more than 5-6 million.

A big part of our summer budget needs to go on improving our full back positions, we need proper quality there, the only ones i wouldn't consider getting rid of are Enrique and Flanagan.
Its a shame but Kelly is all but a write off, how old is he nowadays, 24? can anyone genuinely see him sorting his shit out and being any real use to us?, he just can't be relied on at all.
Cissokho, he might be nice bloke but is nowhere near good enough.
Johnsons contract is nearly up and he looks past his sell by date and is far to inconsistant, actually he has been quite consistant this season, consistantly poor.
Robinson, can't see him ever being good enough though to be fair most of us thought the same with Flanno who should be a solid squad option for us for years to come , haven't followed him much at Blackpool but it doesn't exactly look good with him being sent off 3 times and Blackpool being beyond awful.
Wisdom shouldn't go anywhere, would rather see him be the centre back that hes supposed to be and then judge from there.
