Hope Ireland and Wales show some quality today 'coz there wasn't a lot on view yesterday, with a couple of exceptions from England. One was the performance of Billy Vunipola at no.8 which deservedly got him MOTM. Another was the way Jack Nowell took his try. Back in the 70s there was a striker called Gerd Müller, nicknamed "Der Bomber", who played for Bayern and West Germany and had the most amazing scoring record. He wasn't particularly skilful, quick (over more than ten yards or so) or even tall, but he was one of the best examples I've ever seen in football of a player making the absolute best of the gifts he did have. Nowell's a bit like that - no team's going to be safe with him around.

Really looking forward to the game today, I'm expecting us to turn it on today with our boys crossing the line at least 4 times.

I'd just like to say that dh is a totally shocking appointment as captain. It's the equivalent of the national footy side naming Barton as skipper

Billy pisses me off. He looks maybe a little bit leaner, but the state he often lets himself get into is atrocious for an elite athlete. Then he shows you his abilities like yesterday and it's even more aggravating. I'm not convinced he's the right answer at 8, especially given his propensity to cough up cheap penalties.

I'm not confident for Ireland's chances this year. Missing some top players for today's match, through injury and of course we have a new captain after the big man retired.

Best has some very big boots to fill. The conspiracy theorist in me reckons they appointed Best so that the southerners can blame us Nordies if it all goes tits up.

Pretty average game skill level wise, but still good viewing. Considering the injuries they had the Irish can take more positives from the result I guess.

I thought it was a gripping game today myself, although its always better in the ground than on tv.

Nothing spectacular from either side, Wales startefd slowly but were ultimately the more dominant side overall but with a decent ref Ireland nick a win.

I thought McGrath, Murray and Best were our best players with plenty of others putting in respectable shifts and our 6& 7 being very good.

Didn't see England yesterday, but i did see France - I've no doubt they'll get better but I still wouldn't be concerned
