Season 23/24

I enter the UEFA ballot every year, the only time I got tickets was for the UEFA Cup final last time it was in Dublin, that led me to believe the ballot potentially favours folks from the country the final is in - so find an Irish address and enter the ballot. Before you ask, my address is spoken for 🙂

As it turned out the final ended up being between two Portuguese clubs, all my mates from Liverpool, who had promised to come over for a laugh regardless who got into the final, pulled out and I couldn't give the fucking tickets away

My mate unexpectedly got tickets for the UEFA Cup final via the lottery and we ended up traipsing to Istanbul to see Shaktar Donesk vs Werder Bremen. Awful game but everyone seemed to remember Liverpool fans quite fondly, which was cool.

I've booked a hotel. I figure that as long as it's not another English club I'd go anyway.

I've looked at flight prices and I'm tempted but I'm kinda broke at the moment after our Spanish holiday and more or less taking the rest of the summer off from full-time paid work.

Wanted to go to the West Ham match in September as i was thinking of dropping drop my daughter back to college then. Entered the ballot, thinking there might be a small chance with the expanded capacity - but surprise, surprise no joy.

But then I get another email saying that, as they don't know exactly how many additional seats there will be by then, they have put me in a waiting list in case some additional seats come up .... wayhayy!!!!

So I am apparently number 39,197 in the list. On the conservative assumption that, on average, people are looking for two tickets each, then I am in with a chance if somehow they accelerate the development of the Annie Rd top shelf and open up an additional 78,394 seats. I am on tenterhooks .. this is so exciting

Do they operate it like a queue or just a list where everyone m’s random selected from?

I’m seeing the latter more often in ticket allocations these days.

Hope remains.

I managed to get tickets for the Fulham game in December after applying for all I was eligible for.
Mad that I am feeling lucky.

Haha - I entered for 2 matches - West Ham & Fulham (which coincides with my daughter's 21st so will be in town for that too). Zilch on both

I really thought this expansion would make tickets more accessible to the occasional match goer, but no.

I sometimes think giving up my season ticket in 1998 was the biggest mistake

This is what the email says:

Your waiting list number for this game is 39197

Bu then 30 minutes later I get an email with the following message:

This is a correction to the email we sent you earlier this evening. A data error meant we sent some Members the wrong waiting list position. Please ignore our previous email for Liverpool v West Ham United and refer to this email for your correct waiting list position (which may be unchanged). We are sorry for the inconvenience.
So, hope starts to rise again, then they go on to inform me that my correct number was, in fact, 39197.

The red message does seem to indicate it is a queue

I read on the site that we have a one in thirteen chance of getting our names drawn out of the hat for a regular match during the season.
It is a 1-1.2 chance for the category A games for members with four or more games attended last season which means you are almost guaranteed a ticket for those.
One season I had eleven matches on my card when thirteen would have guaranteed me a ticket for all games the following one.
I had four or more games on my card pretty much every season up to the last season of the old system on which they based their current priority list.
I am almost looking forward to when we are truly shit again so I can access tickets again readily.

Seems like it’s been half a decade since I met you after the villa game. I’ve had several unsuccessful ballots since then. I’ve given up on the membership scam.

It does feel like a scam all right but every club seems to have a similar system and ours isn't nearly as expensive as some.
It will be two years since the Villa game and my first time over since then.

I applied for all available games and sweet FA.
Although for West Ham:
Your waiting list number for this game is 27235

Game on, come on…

I think we will get fourth, if we strengthen the defense.

City
United
Arsenal
Pool

Newcastle
Villa

I think Arsenal will have a blip now with proper CL footie.
Newcastle also. Chelsea is a bit of a dark horse, but I think Poch needs more time to get them going.

City
Liverpool
Arsenal
Chelsea
Utd
Newcastle
Villa

Chelsea will benifit from no European footy. Howe to get sacked by Newcastle. Utd to finish in 5th.

Registered for all league games available, as ever.
Unsuccessful for all, as ever.

Waiting list place for West Ham is 6006 though, which sounds okay, but I imagine it won't be.

There's always the cup schemes again.

If I had been placed as high as 6006 for any of those games I would be pretty hopeful of getting tickets.
Good luck.
