With Wolfsburg 3rd from bottom, Ricardo Rodríguez might be a viable transfer option. Only a yr older but much more experienced and ready to knock on the starting XI door.

He strikes me more as a wing-back type. I know Wolfsburg play with a back 4, but their defense has been pretty poor the last few years when RR was there. I suspect that at the top level he would thrive only in a system with 3 CBs, much like Marcos Alonso or Lichteiner or other players of that sort.

He's also contracted to the club until 2019 and will cost 20-30 mill £ depending on any release clause.
Thats a lot of money and I like Rodriguez mind. Wanted us to sign him this summer.
