Scum being shit 'damages PL brand'

I'm not disagreeing with you, but I am curious which statement you are referring to.

This one? "There are lots of fans around the world who wish Manchester United were winning it again,"

This one? "But you have to balance that off against, generally, we're in the business of putting on a competition and competition means people can compete."

Or the one about the PL brand, in which case could you please post it?
I think you're right MM. The article itself promotes the idea that Scudamore "wants" MU to win because it means more revenue to the PL. But he doesn't actually say it when you read down into the quotes. Pretty benign stuff to be fair.

I don't really care if Asia or other countries on the other side of the world prefer Utd to win it so that the PL can make more money.

Man, are you camping out in Chelsea forums?

It makes for hilarious reading, seeing what rival fans think of us

Here is a few posts..

I'm amazed any Sunderland player went to shake a Liverpool players hand after the game in fear they fell over and were awarded a freekick or a penalty. I concede Sunderland should have been down to 10 men but this was made up for by the dreadful linesmen throughout. Saurez could have been off with multiple yellow cards for diving; if only the FA would take a tougher stance on this kind of behaviour. This was a much more spirited performance by SAFC. Showed far more guts than when we played Norwich. We're likely to go down and mostly through a season of silly mistakes. Who knows. Play like we did in the second half and we could surprise everyone, including ourselves.

Can't believe this sh*t, Liverpool have had so many close calls where teams exploited their average/sh*t defence, yet they keep winning.
Even today ended up as another close one where they could've dropped points. Someone here mentioned on a few occasions that they have the luck of the irish, that seems to be true right now. Their luck needs to run out soon.

Why I have asked for someone, anyone to beat them. But I stand by what I have said before, they will win their remaining games and the title whether they do it playing well or by the helps of the refs. The FA and media want Liverpool to take United's crown and so it will come to pass.

It is funny, i have been doing a fair bit of it this season, Red Cafe is hilarious, such insecurity, confusion, denial and pure comedy on there.

A lot of the other forums are in big denial about us and where we are going though tbf there are some fans that can take their tinted specs and actually give a bit of credit, not many though.

The general consensus is that we will soon fall away again, you can tell its more in hope though.

The thing is, most of us have that worm of doubt gnawing in a corner of our brain saying we're going to fall away. I know I do. I know it is all great, and we're heading the right way. But we've all felt ourselves on an upward curve daring to dream again before the crash comes again. There's a part of me that expects the same pattern to present itself. I hate that part of me though.

It's understandable. We've had decades of false dawns and crashes. I don't think we will win it this year but I do believe we're set up for a positive future. You never know though, you just never know.

I don't think we'll win it either ultimately, which will be fairly devastating if we get really close.

The boom vs bust question centres around whether we can sustain the level of competitiveness we've shown this season. I can't deal with scrapping in 6th next season now that I've had a taste of the good life again.

As I say Keni, I think we've got a positive future I firmly believe that. I think (and hope) we will strengthen further in the closed season. Regardless of where we end up this year, and if we're honest with ourselves, we've already come further than any of us truly expected this year. That's a massive positive. I think, and hope, it bodes well for us. Gaining top four is a bonus, top three a superb improvement, winners ? That would be truly amazing.

No doubt. Considering many thought top 4 might be out of our reach again, the team have surpassed all reasonable expectations. It's still feels a little bit mad that we are where we are. Let's hope we can close the season out in style.

Damn right. Anything beyond where we are now is a bonus. Top four is an unexpected pleasure.

Finally we have a team that does the club, supporters and city proud. The fact we are still in with a shout this far into the season is amazing. To take a team and improve it by at least 3 league positions is outstanding. To win it would be miraculous. Sure we'll be massively disappointed if we don't go on to capture the title as we've longed for it for a quarter of a century but if we don't achieve the ultimate goal we shouldn't be disheartened. We are on the right road both on and off the field. The fact the vast majority of neutrals want us to win it because we've not bought it speaks volumes.

They all laughed at us, they all mocked at us, they all said our days our numbered.

Well....not any more.
