Instead of doing your chores, see if you can figure out why my Xbox tells me that my DVDs are the wrong region and refuses to play them.

Is it a real dvd? If so, & the region matches your console there shouldn't be any reason at all it doesn't play.
It is. That's why I'm fucking perplexed about it. I did read that UK and Ireland DVDs are "sub-regioned" (not sure that's the correct term) and I was thinking that microsoft were being complete cunts in not letting me watch a DVD bought in the UK on a xbox bought in Greece.

Dunno what it's like over there but here you can get a dvd player from asda for £10 that's fully region unlocked.
If not, most dvd players have remote control codes to easily unlock the region. Google will tell you how to do it for a specific model.

Our DVD player shit itself a while ago. I haven't watched a DVD in ages but the mood struck me the other week and I stuck a DVD in and the bastard told me it was the wrong region. It plays DVDs that were given away with the paper here, though. The fucker.
I might just buy a new DVD player.
