Now do Italy.
With pleasure.

Allegri was at Juve for 5 years between 2014 and 2019 before taking a break and he's now been back there for 2 years. (no sacking)
Goold old Gasperini has been managing Atalanta for 7 years.
Spaletti was at Roma for over 5 years in his first spell between 2005 and 2009, before leaving for Russia....now been back at Napoli for 2 years and going
strong.
Inzaghi (Simone) was at Lazio for 5 years between 2016 and 2021 before being approached by Inter where he's now been for 2 years. (no sacking)
Pioli has been at Milan now for 2.5 years.
Sarri was doing fine, going strong at Napoli for 3 years before Chelsea came calling (no sacking), now back at Lazio where he's been for 2 years.
he was also previously at Empoli for 3 years before he got the Napoli job.
Mourinho was at Inter for 2 years successfully, wasn't sacked and left to go to Madrid.....now back at Roma where he's been for 2 years.

Do you need me to continue? Because I can if you need me to.

And yet, 8 Serie A clubs have sacked their managers this season, with 10 losing their jobs last season.

Not entirely true. 6 have been sacked since the season began. 2 were caretakers at the time and didn’t find a proper candidate until midway through the season. Plus of those 6 sackings, 5 came when the clubs were in the relegation zone. They only sack when necessary.

Tuchel wouldn’t have been sacked, Conte wouldn’t, Viera wouldn’t, Gerrard likely wouldn’t, Parker would’nt.

To be clear.. there is no legal barrier to stop clubs firing managers.

But there is no legal barrier to stop teams hiring a freshly fired manager either.

There could be something along the lines of the 2 club rule introduced per season. But make it 1 club rule for managers.

Sack your manager.. here is a pool of managers been out of work for a year... or promote from within caretaker style.

Of course owners would never approve it.

What's the problem with managers getting sacked? I don't see why any rules need to be brought in.

Love that Merson says Rodgers should get the Chelsea job infront of Nagelsmann. Shows the awful punditry and bias some of the morons in the media have towards managers from other leagues.

What loyalty does Merson have towards Chelsea?

Obviously meant it as a troll attempt.

He's stupid, but not stupid enough to suggest something like that and mean it.

I think you are underestimating his stupidity.

So if he was challenged on that opinion he could say with a straight face how winning the treble at Celtic and an FA cup (let's face it that's all he's done) is better than what Naglesmann done which is taking a crap Hoffenheim team into the CL, building a brilliant Leipzig side and taking them into the CL semi's and winning a Bundesliga with Bayern?

He's extremely dumb

How much have this cost Chelsea then? Sacking Tuchel, compensation to Brighton, 5 year deal for Potter and sacked after 31 games.
From what I can see its 22 mill for getting Potter, 10 mill for sacking Tuchel and now paying Potter.
Looking at roughly 40 mill + then. Jeezess how shit they are run.

Maybe I am but I'm allowed to voice this, maybe I actually care enough for the sport so that it's played in the right way & improve the league in this country.

& I'm sure many others out there who follow the league find it an embarrassment how often managers are sacked.

I really ought to be put in charge of the FA, I'd shake up things no end and smack a few people around who've allowed the state of football in this country to reach an all time low.

Don't go woke. I'd happily see Chelsea sack another six managers before 2025.

Luis Enrique travelling to London for talks with Chelsea. Thats probably another appointment that wont work out imho.

They gave Cooper a contract extension the last time pressure was mounting too. I think he deserves a chance to bring them up, in the event that they do get relegated.

I mean how do you access what works for them in 10 games. Say he wins 6 draws 3 and loses 1 but still finish 9-10th?

I kinda get why you don’t go straight for someone like Enrique now, better to wipe the clean slate and start from a fresh season.
